Rules and regulations.
Do understand that we do not arrange picnics. It follows that if one seeks luxury and absolute comfort then we can hardly help them.
Sa-Hi Trekkers believe in being one with nature and that is possible only when we shed all city slicker attitudes. Of course by that we do not suggest that one should be ready for any kind of nonsense.
Utmost care is taken to ensure safety of the group and care is taken that no one is inconvenienced because of factors within our control.
We do expect our Sa-hi friends to understand group dynamics and leave at home their individuality. They should be prepared to share and care. That makes and all the physical and mental exhaustion forgettable and the trek itself become unforgettable! Trust us on this.
Now some basic codes:
Respect nature.
1) No littering! Carry your own trash. If you are found littering then we will request you to pick it up. Friends, it is really not nice to throw garbage around and it only reflects upon us. Will we do this to our own houses?
REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE!
2) Do not disturb the flora and fauna. No making pretty bouquets of grabbed flowers and blooms. No feeding and intimidating birds and other animals. Think how you would feel if someone barges into your house and threatens you. The jungle is THEIR home. So, Capital N O= NO!
3) Remember, the mountain has own mind. Beware and do not make the mistake of taking him for granted. It sounds weird but it’s true. Never take nature as granted.
For your own safety
1) The organizers and you yourself are equally responsible for your safety. We cannot take the blame for injuries or inconveniences arising out of actions outside the organizers instructions and acts of nature.
2) One must understand that the group leader is responsible for the entire group and may have to take some tough decisions at times. If one expects a memorable experience with us then we expect full cooperation and discipline. To sum up, the leader’s decision will be final and binding on all Sahi Trekkers.
3) Finally, the non-arguable part. Smoking and other forms of tobacco use and alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited during trek.
Safety measure is to be followed on strict basis, anybody not following will be discarded on the spot.

Mumbai Musafirs Ride-N-Camp with The Musafirs on May 31st - June 1st
After the super duper response of our last ‘Tent Out’ ride with 70 Musafirs, the Musafirs, yet again have a similar plan up their sleeve for May 31-June 1 (Saturday Sunday). The MuGals (Musafir Girls) team had been out on a recce a couple of weeks back hunting for a beautiful tent out location where we could indulge in masti and dhamaal and they have definitely found a place that perfectly fits our requirement– away from the hustle bustle of the city, next to a clean lake and a place all to ourselves with no one to disturb. This place is a personal property about 145 kms from Mumbai and nestled in the Bhandardara next to the Arthur lake. It will be a pleasurable ride and once we pitch up the tents, set up the campfire and relax like every other of our fun filled evening sessions.
Mumbai Musafirs is NOT a Boyz-Only Riding Family. We have quite a few female riders joining us for our rides. Our female crew member – Shona and numerous other female Musafirs would be there for lively company throughout the trip.
POINT TO NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PICNIC where in you park your bike, walk into a pre-setup tent to rest and come out of it for meals served on a silver platter. We do it a little more ruggedly with each one of you getting your hands dirty. On the ride, you are expected to help in all the activities being done like pitching up tents, making tea/maggi, lighting the camp-fire among various other activities.
ASSEMBLY TIME: 31st May 2014, @ 8:00 AM (Breakfast khaa ke aana! Direct lunch hoga on day 1!)
CHANGE OF ASSEMBLY POINT: The assembly would be at Pappu ka dhaba – Thane (Eastern Express Highway) – 1 km away from our regular assembly point of Eternity Mall. Directions while coming from Mumbai along the eastern express highway: CST – Dadar – Mulund – Cross the toll and enter thane – Cross the first flyover parallel to eternity mall – Immediately after you get down from the flyover in about 200-300 meters, there will be a foot over bridge going across the highway. Wait under the foot over bridge and there will be parking space on your left.
RIDE FEES: 1800/- Includes cost of breakdown vehicle, barbeque (paneer, veggies, chicken); tent (3 riders per tent); reflective vests, water while we are at the campsite, 3 meals, breakfast (day2), evening snacks, tea & biscuits, campfire and an experience! (Feel free to carry your own tents)
Things to carry for the tent out other than the regular biking stuff that we carry:
Cap and sunglasses
Full clothings to protect from the cold at night
2 Bedsheets and/or sleeping bag & sleeping mat
Raincoat just in case it rains
Something to munch on and whatever you wanna drink to keep away the cold :-D
Odomos
Toilet paper + sanitizer (Susu and potty in the open)
Booking amount: 500/- (Once bitten...twice shy – Hence kindly do not request slot confirmation without transferring the booking amount.)
To join the ride:
- Call the crew (and not any other Musafir) on the below numbers to express your interest to join the ride and check for slot availability.
- Transfer the booking amount @ Nishan Chandran, ICICI bank. Ac No 039301508865. ONLY mention YOUR NAME in the ‘transaction remarks’ tab while making the transfer – DO NOT mention names like Mumbai Musafirs/ride/nicc or any other name except yours or the person you are transferring for. Details for internet transfer: CIBD branch, Backbay reclamation, Churchgate. The IFSC code is ICIC0000393. Note the transaction ID as u’ll need it to fill the registration form.
- Following the transfer, fill the registration form: Link will be put up on 18th May
- Just clicking on the attending button does not confirm your slot.
Current status: The ride is open for bikes of every make that can clock 80Kmph constantly. Get your bikes serviced before the ride and fill your fuel tanks before joining the group at the assembly point to avoid any delays. Carry your bike spares if you don’t want your bike to be loaded in the breakdown vehicle for minor issues. It is ideal to carry tyre tubes, clutch and accelerator cables, chain lock, headlamp bulb.
Last Date for Cancellation: On or before 23rd May 2014 (No cancellations/adjustments/replacements /clarifications possible after this date irrespective of the waiting list count. Also no cancellation refunds could be entertained for registrations done after 23rd May 2014)
We do not support/encourage drugs and are firmly against it! If you cannot resist the urge to light up a joint for 2 days, you are better off riding with some other riding group. Upon finding possession of any contraband item, it would off course be your last ride with us but you would also be handed over to the nearest police station without warning.

TMI : One Day Monsoon Trek to Visapur Fort, Lonavala on 8th June, Sunday 2014
Hello Friends, We at Trek Mates India are glad to invite you for a One Day Monsoon Trek to Visapur Fort on 8th June, Sunday 2014
Some info about Visapur:
Type: Hill Fort
Height: 3556 Feet above MSL (Approx)Grade: Easy
Endurance : Medium
Base Village: Malavali
Trek Leader : Manoj Kalwar
Visapur Fort is larger and at a higher elevation than its twin fort- Lohagad. Within the fort are caves, cisterns of water, a decorated arch and old houses. These two roofless buildings surrounded by outer or veranda walls said to have once been Government offices. The ruins of a large stone-built house are known as the Peshwa's palace. In addition to a huge carving of Hanuman, there are also several temple dedicated to him scattered all over the place. Hanuman (or Maruti) was likely the patron deity of Visapur fort.
There is a well which local legend says was built by the Pandavas. In 1885, near the north wall there was an iron gun ten feet long and of four-inch bore, marked with the Tudor Rose and Crown, flanked by the letters E. R. This is probably a gun of Queen Elizabeth's reign probably taken as bounty from an English ship and presented to the Peshwa by Kanhoji Angre or some other commander of the Maratha navy. Like other guns on the fort it has been disabled by breaking off its trunnions. Close to it are the remains of an old Mahadev shrine.

Batch 3 : Explore the Legendary Dudhsagar Waterfall and Trekking in Jungle, Goa with TMI on 23rd August and 24th August 2014
Visit the Legendary Waterfall of India – Dudhsagar waterfall and Trekking in Dudhsagar Jungle, Goa with Trek Mates India on 23rd August and 24th August 2014 (Leaving on 23rd August Afternoon and Returning on 25th August, Monday Early Morning)
Dudhsagar is one of the world's most exquisite falls. It lies high up in the Mandovi River's watershed and so are so spectacular during the monsoon season when the falls are transformed into one of the most powerful falls in India. Dudhsagar Falls is listed as India's fifth tallest waterfall and is 227th in the world at 310 m. The water plummets hundreds of meters (over a thousand feet) in large volumes during the rainy monsoon season, forming one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in Goa.
There is also a legend associated with this waterfall. It is believed that a beautiful princess lived in the forest (near present day Dudhsagar Falls) in a palace. She loved and enjoyed bathing in a lake nearby and used to drink "sweetened milk" from her "golden jug" after finishing with her bath. One day while enjoying her jug of milk she found herself being watched by a prince, who was standing amongst the trees. Red with embarrassment at her inadequate bathing attire, she poured the jug of milk in front of him to form an improvised curtain to hide her body while the maids rushed to cover her with her dress. It is said that it is that sweetened milk that cascades down the mountain slope as Dudhsagar Falls to this day as a tribute to the virtue and modesty of the princess.
This is equally scenic but less popular route. One has to get down at Kuhlem (Collem) railway station and walk towards the falls which is about 11 km away. It normally takes 2–3 hours to reach. The famous photograph of Trains passing through before the waterfalls can be seen in this route and also the complete stretch of the falls will be visible while you hike towards the waterfalls.
