Dear friends,

We at Trek O Phy, invite nature lovers, photographers.. to come together and witness the magic of Jungle Beauty at Netravali, Goa ….

Our country is blessed with all types of habitats and species adapted to the particular environment. Grasslands and wetlands are two of these habitats which are neglected most, being considered as waste lands. Therefore to enjoy the beauty of wildlife from these dry and deciduous places, we have organized this overnight outing, especially for those who are interesting in bird photography. Spotting the highly camouflaged birds and animals and Specially King of snakes “ King Cobra” would be a challenge in itself. This will come under Jungle Trial : Netravali : Goa with Trek O Phy.

Mumbai Musafirs The Musafirs 800 Km Circuit motorbike Ride To Panhala

WARNING: Two Wheeled ‘COMMUTERS’ and ‘Picnic Goers’ please ditch this MUSAFIRS ride – you are better off doing the 20-50kms ‘Independence Day Rides’!

Ride Update; Aug 15-17: As seasoned bikers, The Musafirs have kept pushing the limits of pleasurable riding and increasing their range. Ranging from a 50+ team doing 1500 km ride to Chikaldhara in the finger-numbing winter to the 30 odd Musafirs doing 1750 km ride to Hampi in the thick summer heat, also, not to forget the Musafirs riding between slabs of snow at the Baralachla, the riders have endured it all. When on the road, having been together through thick and thin is what builds the camaraderie among members of this community. When biking, it is not the comfort, but the slight bit of discomfort that gives us a ‘high’ – the kind of ‘high’ that no quantum of drugs could induce! It is the ability to overcome the obstacles, weather conditions and personal comfort that sets this bunch of bikers apart from the two wheeled commuters! With monsoon at its peak, the Musafirs are set to live their INDEPENDENCE with an 800km circuit to Panhala on 15-16-17 August.

Ride fees: 2950/-including multiple share acco, breakfast, meals, reflective vests and Breakdown Vehicle (BdV).

If you think that you are more than just a ‘Bike Commuter’ and you have what it takes to be a Musafir, call:

Hii Friends, After organizaning varius adventurous treks in Sahyadri, We SA-Hi trekkers are glad inform you, we are organising our first ever Himalayan Trek - Chadar Trek.

"CHADAR" refers to the blanket or sheet as the Zanskar river transforms itself from a rapid river into a white blanket of ice during winter, a frozen spectacle awaits the trekker to be experienced of glass ice ranging from a bluish tinge to golden yellow that is seen during the few hours that sunlight reaches directly into the gorge to the milky whitish on a moonlit night - as said a trek journey like no other!

Zanskar valley lies to the south - west of Leh, surrounded by the Himalaya and Zanskar ranges, which is the most isolated of all the trans - Himalayan Valleys. Zanskar comprises of two main valleys the Stod(Doda Chu) and the Lanak (Tsarap Chu)which coverage below at Padum. The area remains inaccessible for nearly 7 months in the year. All passes close in the winter and the river freeze on the surface. Zanskaris walk along it to reach the Indus River in Nimoo (Chilling village), which is known as the Chadar (frozen blanket) Trek. The geographical isolation has resulted in the preservation of the Buddhist heritage and identity. Many ancient monastic establishments are still actively involve in religious activities some remote caves are believed to have been used by the successive Buddhist saints to sustain meditation in pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment.

In 1635-36, Shahaji Raje transferred himself with Jijabai and Shivaji to Mahuli. When Khan Jaman attacked the fort, Shahaji asked Portuguese for help, who refused and Shahaji surrendered. Shivaji took this fort from Mughals on 8 Jan 1658. In 1661 it was given back and was won again by Shivaji. In treaty of Purandar, in 1665, Marathas lost these forts again. In Feb 1670, Shivaji Maharaj tried to conquer Mahuli, but failed, bcoz of an alert Manohardas Gaud, who was in charge of the fort. Thosand of Marathas were killed. Manohardas Gaud soon gave up his position and Alveerdi Beg took over. On 16 June 1670, afer two months, Moropant Pingle conqured the forts and Mahuli, Bhandargad and Palasgad became part Swarajya. Breakfree Journeys goes trekking to Harihar Fort! - 9th August 2014.

$

0

The monsoon is here to stay, and we are not complaining! After a series of treks and trips, we return to the misty region of Igatpuri! Home to Harihar, our next trekking destination this Saturday!

Harihar is a medium grade trek. A rock patch at the end is the most thrilling bit of this trek. Standing at an incline of around 80 degrees, one needs to climb on rock hewn steps (which have niches carved in for additional support) to reach the peak! The total trekking time to reach the top would be around 3 hours.

Sounds good? Here's the plan!

Here's the plan.

The Breakfree Bus will leave from Borivali - Tata Power at 0445 AM and proceed on the Western Express Highway passing through Goregaon-Andheri-Bandra(Kalanagar), further it will move down towards Sion - Mulund - Thane and then join the Nashik highway.

We will be very happy to pick you up from any point on the given route.

We should be back in the city, late evening by around 10 pm.

Cost: Rs. 1200 inclusive of Breakfast, Lunch, To and fro transport, Evening snacks and a whole lotta fun!

Booking amount: Rs. 600

booknow2
Balance to be paid on the trek.

A maximum of 18 participants will be allowed on the trek.

To confirm: Kindly book your seat on mumbaihikerbooking.com

Kindly note:

1. We recommend Action Trekking Shoes; running/gym shoes normally give away to the tough terrain and become useless.

2. Carry at least 2 litres of water with you along with some dry snacks, fruits and a pair of change.

3. Consumption of Alcohol, Narcotic substances and cigarettes is prohibited and may lead to possible expulsion from the trek, and an early expulsion from Natural Habitat.

4. Windcheaters are recommended, avoid carrying umbrellas.

For any further queries, feel free to call us up on 9820023362.

!! 9th August 2014 !!

Short Info:
Naneghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range near Junnar in Pune district of Maharashtra, India. The pass was extensively used as a trade route between Kalyan and Junnar. This was the most important trade route, as it connected harbour of Sopara and Kalyan directly to Junnar and Paithan. The name nane means “coin” and ghat means “pass”. The name is given because this path was used as a tollbooth to collect toll from traders crossing the hills. While going through Malshej Ghat, we can easily get a glimpse of Naneghat after Murbad. The significantly shaped thumb-like peak and the pinnacle of Vandarlingi are the most distinctly seen spots.

General Information:

KAAS PLATEAU:

Kaas plateau is a plateau located near Satara. It is situated high hill plateaus and grasslands turns into a 'valley of flowers' during monsoon season, in the month of August and September. Kaas Plateau has more than 150 or more types of flowers, shrubs and grasses. The orchids bloom here for a period of 3–4 weeks during this season.

Thoseghar Falls:
Thoseghar waterfalls is a scenic spot located near the small village of Thoseghar, 20 km from Satara city, at the edge of the Konkan region, in Western India. There are a series of waterfalls, some of them 15 to 20 metres and one of 500 metres in height. People come from all over Maharashtra to visit the area, especially during the rainy or monsoon season, July to November. Heavy rain falls during that season, and because of this the falls have more water and are more spectacular. The immediate area is calm and quiet, with a clean lake and dark woods in a hilly area

Sajjangad:
Sajjangad (Devanagari, Marathi: सज्जनगड) meaning Fort of Good People, is located near the city of Satara, India. It is the final resting place of Sant Ramdas, a saint and social reformer in 17th century India (born 1606). His teachings and works written in books such as Dasbodh [1] are read and followed by many people even today in the state of Maharashtra and Sajjangad is a popular place of pilgrimage.
