Registration or queries:
Rajas Deshpande: 9664782503
Priti Patel : 9987990300
Zeenat Sikilkar : 9850193039

Rules and regulations:
1.    Do understand that we do not arrange picnics. It follows that if one seeks luxury and absolute comfort then we can hardly help them. ;)

2.    Offbeat Sahyadri believe in being one with nature and that is possible only when we shed all city slicker attitudes. Of course by that we do not suggest that one should be ready for any kind of nonsense.

3.    Utmost care is taken to ensure safety of the group and care is taken that no one is inconvenienced because of factors within our control.

4.    We do expect our offbeater friends to understand group dynamics and leave at home their individuality. They should be prepared to share and care. That makes and all the physical and mental exhaustion forgettable and the trek itself becomes unforgettable! Trust us on this.

Now some basic codes:
Respect nature:

1.    Absofreakinglutely no littering! Carry your own trash. If you are found littering then we will request you to pick it up. Friends, it is really not nice to throw garbage around and it only reflects upon us. Will we do this to our own houses?

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!

2.    Do not disturb the flora and fauna. No making pretty bouquets of grabbed flowers and blooms. No feeding and intimidating birds and other animals. Think how you would feel if someone barges into your house and threatens you. The jungle is THEIR home. So, Capital NO= NO!

3.    Remember, the mountain has a mind of his own. Beware and do not make the mistake of taking him for granted. It sounds weird but it’s true.

With fellow trekkers:

1.    It is fun to interact and get to know people from different walks of life. Feel free to take the opportunity to expand your social circles.

2.    Share water and food. Nothing else is a better ice breaker than being offered water or a bite of your sandwich!

3.    Care for your fellow trekkers. It is not nice to be self centered and unamicable.

For your own safety:

1.    The organizers and you yourself are equally responsible for your safety. We cannot take the blame for injuries or inconveniences arising out of actions outside the organizers instructions and acts of nature.

2.    Simply put, stay with the group. Do not rush far too ahead or lag too behind. We understand that everyone has a different stamina and we try to keep the group bound together.

3.    Do not wander off from the main trail. Whenever there is no established trail, strictly stay with the group. Be within the sight of the person ahead of you and the one behind you. It helps.

4.    One must understand that the group leader is responsible for the entire group and may have to take some tough decisions at times. If one expects a memorable experience with us then we expect full cooperation and discipline. To sum up, the leader’s decision will be final and binding on all offbeaters.

5.    Finally, the non arguable part. Smoking and other forms of tobacco use and alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited.

Regards,
Team OffBeat Sahyadri

This fort was built during the reign of Yadavas. It becames the part of the Swarajya in the year 1656. In 1666 Moghuls conquered the fort but on 24 June 1670 Shivaji Maharaj recaptured the fort.

The Raireshwar platue is famous historical place situated 8 km away from Bhor. This platue looks beautiful in monsoon. It has a famous Raireshwar temple. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj & his selected teenaged friends took the oath of “Swarajya” in the year 1645 in this temple at the age of 16. This event created history that all we know. Thus, Raireshwar can be considered as an important place in the history of Marathas.

The temple is very old and of stone structure. But it was later re-constructed in 18thcentury. It is situated in between various hills and forts viz. Kenjalgad or Mohangad, Kamalgad. It really looks beautiful. “The hilly region and numerous other flowers on the platue add spice to the beauty.”

Shree Rameshwar Mandir, Chaul  This ancient shrine of Shiva looks like built in 'Hemadpant' style of Architecture, though, when it was built is not known. Angre history references say that it was renovated many times. The structure comprises of prayer hall (sabhamandap), sanctum sanctorum and 7.62 meter high summit shaped dome. In front of the prayer hall, there are three tanks (kund) namely Parjanya Kund, Agni kund and Vayoo kund.

Korlai Fort Korlai fort can be seen from the bridge at Salav, located at three Kms. from Revdanda, on the Revdanda - Kashid road. The fort is an Old Portuguese outpost guarding the entrance to the river. A small road leads up to the top of the fort. There is a Lighthouse on the fort and a small climb from behind the lighthouse will take you to the fort. The fort is in ruins, but the view from the lighthouse is beautiful and the rocky beach at Korlai is also good.

Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary  The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is an amazing revelation. Primarily a bird sanctuary, Phansad is also home to a whole array of insects, amphibians and mammals. Spread across 52.71 sq. km., Phansad is located in the Murud and Roha talukas of Raigad District in Maharashtra.

The Janjira Fort Janjira is Marathi corruption of the Arabic word Jazirah, which means an island. The Janjira Fort was built by the rulers of the Ahmed Nagar under the patronage of emperor Malik Amber in the 15th century AD. The fort is build in the sea 2 km inside of Murud. This is one of the vital sea-forts in Maharashtra. It has strong walls 40 ft high and standing intact even after being battered by the sea waves from all four sides. the fort was never conquered by any enemy for over 350 years. Shivaji, Sambhaji and the Peshwas tried to take over the fort. But the Marathas, British or Portuguese could never capture Janjira.

Kashid Beach The famous Kashid beach is located 18 kms from Murud. The specialty of this beach is the beautiful silvery white sand. It's a favourite spot for advertising, TV serial and film shoots. The beach is complete with small food-stalls. If you are travelling from Alibag to Murud, the last U-turn in the Ghat section of the road that descends on the Kashid beach is simply mesmerizing'!

Padmadurg:(will be covered if time permits, and if we get permissions from the same.)
Spread over a vast area of about 9 acres, Padmadurg Fort is regarded as one among the major sea forts in India. A monument of great historical importance, it is situated in Raigad District of Maharashtra. This famous fort is constructed by the great Marathas in order to conquer the Janjira Fort which lies near by.
