Day Trek Details:
The main Sahyadri ranges lies on the eastern side of Shahpur while Mahuli fort is on the western side. The fort can be seen from the road head with three connecting forts on its top. To the left is Mahuli-Chanderi/Bhandargad. The central one is Mahuli and the left most is Chota Mahuli. Between MAhuli and Bhandargad are the famous peaks of Navra Navri and Karavli. It's an impressive massif. The base village for Mahuli fort is Mahuli. The fort is 3km away in the Northwest (right). One has to climb up the gully on the east face, reaching the saddle at 600 mts. Reach a large plateau with excellent views of Tansa Lake. There is no water available on the way up . There is only one water tank at the centre in the centre of the fort.
As for the history, this fort was also built by the Moghuls. However, it is a ruin now . The fort was under Nizam shahi dynasty. Shivaji conquered the fort from the Moghuls. In the treaty of Purandar, Marathas lost this fort again. Shivaji Maharaj tried t conquer it again but failed.

Yo Ramblers,
As part of Ramblers Monsoon special edition events we are organizing waterfall rappelling at Dhodani, the base village for Matheran sunset point trek.
Rappelling/ abseiling is taken care by experts who has more than 10 years of experience in rope events.
During the rappelling event you will be rappelling/ Abseiling the steep surface with the help of safety harness, you will be provided a helmet, knee guard and elbow guard to protect from slippery rocks. The complete rappelling is closely monitored by the experts so that climbers reach the base safely with exhilarating fun
Difficulty Level: Medium, Rappelling elevation: 100 feet.
Itinerary:
DAY1 –
• Assemble at Panvel Railway Station – 10.00 A.M.
• Private vehicle journey to Dhodani village from Panvel station by a tum tum (max 8/9 passengers per vehicle).
• Reach Rappelling/ abseiling spot at Dhodhani.
• Briefing of Rappelling, safety precautions to be taken during rappelling and start abseiling in waterfall.
• After instructors demo participants will start rappelling.
• Lunch after Rappelling at Dhodhani village.
• Return journey to Panvel from Dhodani by private vehicle.
Expenses:
INR 900 per head, Inclusive of transport from Panvel – Dhodani – Panvel by private vehicle, waterfall rappelling, Lunch ( only veg).

What to Wear:
• Full length T-shirt and Full length track pants. (Avoid Jeans or shorts or thick pants which will be very discomfort during waterfall rappelling)
• Trekking Shoes or strapped sandals (Avoid wearing slippers or flipflops).
What to Carry:
• Extra pair of clothes.
• Towel, toiletry kit.
• Personal medicines if any.
• If you wear spectacles, carry a strap for the same.
• water bottle (Min 1.5 liters.)
• Waterproof sealed tiny pouch to carry petty cash for snacks after rafting event.(Please do not give burden to the organizer for snacks and other miscellaneous costs)
• Don’t wear jewelry items and expensive accessories.
• Waterproof camera (optional)
Age Criteria:
Minimum age: 10 years (No concession in event charges for minors)
Maximum age: There is no maximum age limit. You need to be reasonably fit to participate.
Instructions:
• All the required safety equipment’s will be provided during the course of rappelling event and constantly monitored by experts until the rappeller reaches the base.
• ID Proof is mandatory to carry.
• Below 18 years of age must take the consent of the parents to participate in the event.
• Payment should be done in advance to take part in the event.
• All the participants should fill the disclaimer form before taking part in rappelling.
• Participants will be notified in prior when itinerary is modified/ event get cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances.
• Event may get delayed or cancel due to unforeseen conditions like heavy rainfall or the rapid of waterfall is beyond the limit of rappelling.
• Alcohol consumption/ tobacco is strictly prohibited in the course of event. Will be expelled from the event If found with consumption.
• Please do not litter any plastic (biscuit pack covers, candy wrappers etc.). We commit to keep our events clean.
• Participants should coordinate, disciplined and align together as a team during the event.
• Though we assure safety as a top priority, Event Organizers are not responsible for any severe injuries or fatal events.
• Participant will get a refund of 90% paid if paid and withdraw from the participation before the day of the event, No Refund will be provided if participant withdraw on the day of the event.
• Minimum required participants is 16 for the event to take place.
• If Rappelling event is withdrawn due to heavy rainfall or high rapid of waterfall only transport and food expenses will be charged.
