Kasol is small scenic village situated along the banks of the river Parvati at a height of 5380 feet above sea level. It is 42 Km's to the east of Kullu. With plenty of staying options and campsites Kasol has recently gained a lot of popularity among backpackers. It is also called the Mini Israel because of the hoards of Israelis who come to the valley and stay for months. The Italian cuisine is particularly very famous in this area of Himachal Pradesh. However there are plenty of options to choose from including other western cuisines and Indian cuisines. The shops at Kasol sell hemp bags, decorative materials and smoking accessories. They also sell Indian and western clothing. The hemp kurtas available there are unique and is a must purchase for anyone going there. The German bakeries around Kasol are something that you'll absolutely love if you have a sweet tooth. The Jumbo sized Chocolate Croissants, delicious Apple Crumbles and HUGE chocolate cakes, the Tiera Mishu are some of the savories that you’ll love. It is an ideal place to chill and do absolutely nothing but sit back, relax and let nature take over. It is a perfect getaway from our daily routine. The weather at Kasol is pleasant during the summers and monsoons but gets chilly during the winters. The village is accessible throughout the year.
Must have dishes: Shakshouka and Sippudim.
Chalal is not far away from Kasol. After crossing the suspended bridge over the gushing Parvati river, the trail to the left leads to Chalal. The primary occupation of the villagers there is Animal husbandry and also just like rest of the Parvati valley almost all families have Cannabis plantations. That is also one of the main source of income since cannabis is found in abundance in the valley. It grows everywhere, hence the name Weed. Chalal has become a hotspot for Psychedelic parties over the years.
Tosh is another sleepy village on the far end of the valley situated at 7874 feet above sea-level. the village also has a temple dedicated to Sage Jamdagni. This village also leads to the Pin Parvati Pass. and is accessible from Kasol very easily. Beyond Tosh, the trail extends further through thick pine forests to the spiritual site of Kheerganga, a meadow at 2960m where Lord Shiva is said to have meditated for 3000 years.

The best time to visit Dandeli and enjoy its pristine beauty is between October and May. Especially, during December to May, the climate is pleasant and tourists can indulge in various adventure activities. Moreover, the pleasant climate is ideal for sightseeing. Avoid visiting this place during the monsoon season, between June and September.
Dandeli sets the perfect natural environment for various sports activities such as white water rafting. March to May is the most suitable time for water sports when the weather is warm and doubles the fun. Canoeing and kayaking on the Kali River are the other water sports activities one can enjoy during this season. Sail through the river and beat the heat of the summer season.
Bird watching can be fun and interesting amidst the woods. Visit Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary during October or November, when you get to see different varieties of birds in their natural habitat. There are more than 200 species of birds in this sanctuary to explore. Moreover, tourists get to see different kinds of wild animals including Black Panther. The Sanctuary can be visited anytime between 6am to 6pm. Explore the forest; get engaged in bird watching, away from the hustle bustle of the city.
