The boulder strewn land of Hampi is mesmerizing to say the least. Green paddy fields along with swaying coconut palms, the Tungabhadra flowing gently and the splendid architectural marvels of the Vijayanagar kingdom complete the picture of this fascinating place.
This Christmas, join us as we head out on a trip across this land filled with legends to explore, not just its architectural splendour but also go a level deeper and understand its ecology.
A cycle tour and a guided walk along the river will acquaint you with the heritage and legends of Kishkinda, Vijayanagar and current day Hampi. From the Queen's Bath to Matanga Hill to Anjanadri Hill and Anegondi, these excursions will take you back in time.
But the trip isn't just about the architecture, the scrubland interspersed with the marshy areas formed by the Tungabhadra Dam, are home to a wide variety of rare birds that inhabit these regions. From Sandgrouses to Flamingos, a wide variety of birds can be spotted. Not just this, Monitor Lizards, Sloth Bear and other mammals are not uncommon.
Accompanied by our in-house expert Pravin Subramanian and the local expert - Pompayya Malemath, we will explore these regions in an SUV and introduce you to the beauty that is Hampi.
