So friends,
We at Trek O Phy, invite you to come together and witness the magic of  nature this monsoon on Photo Trail to Kass Plateau - Maharastra's Valley of Flowers on 14-15 Sep 2013.
Let's Capture the Memories together…
About the Destinations :

Kass Plateau :

The Kaas Plateau also known as the “Maharastra's Valley of flowers”. This “Mother Natures Flowering Amphitheatre” situated in the Western Ghat Sahyadri range, 22 kilometers from Satara city in Maharashtra state of India. The name Kaas originates from Kaasa tree (Elaeocarpus glandulosus). Leaves of this tree turn green to red as they mature. It gets white flowers only for 15 days in the month of March. The area of plateau is approximately 1,000 hectars.
The plateau is full of wild flowers during the months of August and September. These flowers bloom on their own and stay for about 2–3 weeks (depending on the monsoon and other weather factors).
Recently it has been declared as Biodiversity World heritage site by UNESCO. It has an small lake nearby, as you are driving down the curves climbing down from Kaas Plateau you see a sign on left saying - Kaas Talav. It is a natural tranquil Kaas lake surrounded by dense forests. To the left of the lake lies Sajjangad fort and Kanher Dam is to the right. The place has more than 850 different species of flowers and other plants including Orchids, Karvy and carnivorous plants such as Drosera Indica.

Sajjangad :

Shambhu Mahadev is the sub range of Sahyadri starting from Pratapgad to eastern side. This range is divided into three parts and Sajjangad is situated on one of these sub ranges. One should touch the soil here sanctified by the feet of Samrath Ramdas Swami. Poet Anant has aptly described the place the sacred one, blessed by the existence of Lord hanuman and residence of Saint Ramdas Swami.

The fort stands 10 km away to the south- west of the Satara city in the ravine of the Urmodee or Urvashee River.
