Tel-baila is basically a watch tower built to guard over the Sahwashni ghat near Pali. Telbaila, situated around 94 km from Pune is a 'Magmatic Dyke' which is a very steep vertical wall of rocks created by intruding magma in to a fissure. The wall is divided into two dykes at the middle where a small Shivalaya exists. Tel-baila was a fort with steps which the British destroyed with mines & guns just to prevent any mutiny in future against the British Rule. Today Tel-baila stands as one of the most prominent places in the Sahyadris famous for its four rock-climbing routes. the rock walls of Tel-baila offer great rock climbing opportunities of technical grade. There are lot of ancient man made water tank & caves at the base as well as on the climbing routes. It's a climber's paradise. However during the trek we are going up to the temple and enjoy the scenic beauty of Sudhagad in Konkan visible right beyond the deep valley.

Ghangad is situated on western side of Mulshi River, which is called as Korbarase Maval. This fort is surrounded by Korigad, Telbaila and Sudhagad, but still lonely and separated.
