We at Wild Rangers arranged one day trek to Kalavantin Durg on 14th July, 2013.
Brief Information about Kalavantin Durg:-
Region: Karjat
Fort Height: 2300 ft.
Type: Hill Fort
Grade: Medium
Mode of Transport : Public Transport
Kalavantin Durg is situated on northeast side of Panvel, on Mumbai-Pune road. Can see it frm express highway a V-Shaped one.
The Left one is Kalwantin Durg & right side is Prabalgad. But there is a dense forest on the way till the the top of fort Prabal. Historical References indicate that
Freedom fighter Umaji Naik made a stay here in 1826.
Kalavantin durg pinnacle is tougher. It has some rock cut steps initially and then few more but muddy path near the pinnacle. It will be slippery, but real adventure.

11:30 Hrs: – Reach on the top of the Kalavantin Durga Pinnacle
13:00 Hrs: – Descend from pinnacle and move towards Prabal Machi
14:00 Hrs: – Lunch at Prabal Machi
15:00 Hrs: – Start Descending towards base village
16:30 Hrs: – Reach at base village
After having some refreshments we will move towards Panvel by local transport, We will be back in Mumbai before 20:00 Hrs.
Things to be carried: –
A Water Bottle (~2 Ltr),
Camera, Cell Phone, Navigation Devices (Optional)
Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments
Some ready to eat food, fruits etc
Medicine those if you require usually (Optional)
Trekking shoes are compulsory,
Wear track suite preferably
Extra Pair of clothes,
A haversack to put all these things
Trek Fees Rs. 300.00 Per Person
This includes Traveling from Panvel to Panvel, Breakfast, Lunch and Refreshments.
All our treks are Eco-friendly treks; kindly take care of nature around us.
Smoking and Drinking alcohol during trek is strictly prohibited if anyone found doing that will be expelled from trek without refund.
