TREK TO PETH FORT (KOTHALIGAD)

Short Info:
Peth is situated in Shahapur taluka, Karjat district. Hight of this fort is 3100 ft above sea level. This fort is also known as Kothaligad.
History: This fort is very small in size but was used as an ammunition storage and defense station during Sambhaji Maharaj’s era. This fort is surrounded with other forts like Bhimashankar, Rajmachi, Dhak, Sidhhagad and Prabalgad
What to see on Peth – Kothaligad …..
- Pinnacle of the Peth fort.
- Bhairoba Mandir
- Bhairoba Cave. This cave is well-sculpted and accommodate 30 to 40 people
- Water cisterns
- Bastions of the fort well in condition
- From the Fort top we can have glimpse of Bhimashankar, Rajmachi, Dhak and Siddhagad

Schedule:
All participants must catch 05:35am slow local to karjat. (Train schedule will be circulated later).
On arrival at karjat we proceed towards Ambavali village, had breakfast and start ascending fort.
Lunch upon arrival in caves.
Post lunch visit Pinnacle top, enjoy the scenic view from the top.
Start descending the fort. Further back to karjat by local transport.
