As Monsoon has come and we have a splendid climate,
Offbeat Trekkers invites you for a one day trek to Lohagad & Visapur fort near Lonavala on 16th June 2013, Sunday.
LOHAGAD is situated 52km from Pune in western India. It is at an elevation of 3,450 feet (1,052 m). It divides the basins of Indrayani and Pavana rivers. Close to Lohagarh, on its eastern side, on the same plateau, there is another fort, called VISAPUR fort.
Best season to visit :- Monsoons
Difficulty:- Easy to moderate
Itinerary:-
04:30 AM - Meet at SOM
04:45 AM - Depart to Kanjurmarg
06:16 AM - Catch Indrayani Express from Thane to Lonavala
08:15 AM - Board a local to Malavali
08:30 AM - Breakfast at Malavali and then walk towards bhaje village (around 2.5 - 3 Kms)
Note:- Last place where you can get eatables
09:30 AM - Reach at Lohagad Visapur Junction (We'll first proceed towards Visapur)
11:30 AM - Reach atop Visapur and exoplore
01:30 PM - Start descending Visapur
02:30 PM - Reach Lohagadvadi and have lunch
03:30 PM - Start ascending Lohagad
04:30 PM - Reach atop and explore
05:30 PM - Start descending and proceed towards Bhaje
Visit Bhaje caves and waterfalls, if time permits.
Then proceed to Lonavala
07:25 PM - Board Indrayani Express to Thane
Will be back in Instii before 10 PM.
The cost of this trek would be Rs 450 Rs.
This includes travel cost from Kanjurmarg to Kanjurmarg, breakfast, Veg lunch, Evening tea and snacks.
NOTE:- Rains are expected so you must carry a plastic bag to keep your valuables (like mobile phones, mp4, cash etc.)
Everyone is expected to carry their bags and a water bottles (atleast 2 liters), any snacks that you need can be bought from Lonavala station on the day of trek.
Registration of the trek will be confirmed only against payment of the above mentioned Trek cost to any of the undersigned persons on or before 14th June, Friday.
