Prabalgad is situated on northeast side of Panvel ,
on Mumbai- Pune road . one can see it from express highway a V –
Shaped one . The Left one is Kalwantin Durg & right side
is Prabalgad. The fort top commands an excellent view
of the surroundings with Prabal in the front. Matheran ,
Chanderi , Shrimallang, Irshal Karnala , Manikgad, etc can
be easily identified . Prabalgad is a adjoining hill
to Kalavantin durg.
Duration : 1 Day
Itinerary for the Event :
Meeting Point : Panvel st stand at 10:00 pm (sat night)
Travel to the base village Thakurwadi by jeep or any
source,
Start Trekking after Introduction and Information .
Reach the table based Village Matchi at the middle till
2am, Rest.
5am Move towards prabalgad, will reach at the top at 7:00AM
9 AM BACK TO BASE VILLAGE.
start our return journey.
Reach Panvel approx by 11 :30AM on Sunday.

Nisarga Bhraman has arranged a ‘Wild Amboli Expedition’ to study and photograph Herpetofauna and Biodiversity of Amboli.
Batch 2: 23rd July 2016
About the place –
Amboli is a small hill-station nestled in the western ghats at the height of 710 meters above the sea level. This hill station in Sindhudurga district is knoknown as ‘Cheerapunji of Maharashtra’. Its one of the cleanest and greenest hill stations for the wildlife. A dream destination for Naturalists, Amboli literally blossoms in the monsoon. A walk on green misty trails, beautiful scenery, waterfalls, a loads of biodiversity and delicious konkani food makes it a perfect location for a short trip.
The main focus of our trip would be watching herpatofauna. The walk to the Mahadevgad, Parikshit Point, Chaukul Rasta and Botanical Garden offer fantastic opportunity to explore the forest which is extremly rich in herpetofauna, wildflowers and birds.
The star attraction here are Reptiles like Malabar Pit Viper, Green Vine Snake, Olive Forest snake, Banded Racer, Beddome’s Keelback, Shieldtail Snake, Deccan Banded Gecko, Bombay Leaf-toed Gecko etc. and Amphibians like Malabar Gliding Frog, Amboli Bush rog, Beddome’s burrowing frog, Criket frog, Fungoid frog, Tiger Toad and the Caecilians etc.

Meet at Sanjay Gandhi National Park Entrance at Borivali at 22:00 Hrs Sharp
Travel from Mumbai by private Non-AC vehicle
Saturday –
Reach Amboli by 8:30 Hrs
Breakfast
Check in at the Hotel, Freshen up and Rest
Enjoy delicious local flavour Veg Food at 12:30 Hrs
Jungle Trail towards Parikshit Point at 14:00 Hrs
Tea Break at 17:30 Hrs
Slide Show and Discussion on Amboli Wildlife at 18:00 Hrs

Botanical Garden Night Trail at 21:30 Hrs
