Hello Rangers...We at Wild Rangers would like to invite you to join us for a Peaceful sparkling night at Rajmachi forta fireflies special trek to rajmaachiFireflies : Fireflies or lightning bugs make light within their bodies. This process is called bioluminescence and is shared by many other organisms,mostly sea-living or marine organisms. Fireflies light up to attract a mate. To do this, the fireflies contain specialized cells in theirabdomen that make light.Rajmachi is a fort in Karjat region. There are two forts which were built by Shivaji Emperor during 17th century. It is a famous spot for trekking. Rajmachi fort is a strategic fort overlooking Borghat(ghat between Mumbai and Pune) which was a historical trade route. Rajmachi peak has two fortified structures - the Shrivardhan fort and Manoranjan fort. Rajmachi can be reached by 2 ways, the tough route from Kondivide village near Karjat and the other easy but long way route from Lonavala. In rainy season this place is filled with giant waterfalls and greenery. Rajmachi has very rich history.   Team Mapping Journeys!     Kavnai Fort!     Kavnai  lies  roughly  150km  from  Mumbai  on  the  Trimbakeshwar  road.  Igatpuri  is  18  km  from  Kawanai. Village  kawanai  is  a  religious  place  where  Saint  Dnyaneshwar  rested  for  few  days.  The  fort  is  located  north  of  the  village.  It  is  said  that  the  fort  was  built  by  Moghuls.  It  was  ceded  to  Peshvas  by  Nizam  under  the  terms  of  the  treaty  held  after  the  Battle  of  Udgir  (1760).This  fort  along  with  Tringalwadi  and  fifteen  other  forts  were  captured  by  British  army  under  leadership  of  Col.  Briggs.The  journey  from  Mumbai  takes  you  through  the  beautiful  Kasara  ghat  via  the  scenic  NH3  national  highway.  The  route  from  the  base  village  till  the  top  is  medium  grade.  While  climbing  up  we  encounter  the  main  entrance  of  the  fort  which  is  still  intact  and  has  stone  ladders  built  to  reach  the  top.  A  small  cave  can  be  seen  on  the  right  handside  of  the  ladder  patch.  There  is  an  additional  iron  ladder  placed  for  the  safety  of  trekkers. The  fort  top  gets  strong  winds  all  throughout  the  year  and  even  during  summer  season  it  gets  very  cold  n  windy  during  night.  The  top  of  fort  houses  a  beautiful  water  pond  and  few  water  cisterns  as  well.  The  view  from  the  top  is  a  360  degree  Panorama.A  small  temple  was  built  recently  on  the  top  inside  which  an  interesting  pandit  named  Laldas  resides,  he  has  been  staying  on  this  fort  for  almost  5  years  now  all  alone. Pre  trek  experience  is  not  really  required  for  Kavnai  and  can  be  done  easily  by  first  timers  who  are  physically  active. - Team Mapping Journeys 2016.   Kavnai fort!                                             Photo link : https://goo.gl/photos/ko7evhDsh639v3Vn7 Date : 12th June 2016!...
