The caves and the inscriptions are believed to be from the Jain followers. The temple of 'Anjani Mata', a big marvelous temple devoted to the mother of Lord Hanuman, is another attraction. Dear Trekkers and Hikers,  We at Bhramanti365 has arranged an overnight Trek to Mahuli fort on 6th March 2016 (Leaving on 05th March ie Saturday) Brief Inofrmation about the Fort :- The creator of this fort are Mughals. In treaty of Purandar, Marathas lost these forts again. Shivaji Maharaj tried to conquer Mahuli, but failed. A thousand Marathas were killed. Most of them were from nearby villages. Shivaji raje said to his dead kadam sardar he is our gold. So raje gave "sonare" surname to this family. In one such treaty Shivaji raje made a truce in offering 22 forts.
