Dear Friends we invite you all for Night Trek to Prabalgad Fort on 13 Mar 2016 leaving 12 night Prabalgad Fort is located between Matheran and Panvel in the Indian state of Maharashtra, at an elevation of 2300 feet in the Western Ghats.It was built on a plateau very close to Matheran, but unlike Matheran it does not have a good source of water. It was known as Muranjan untilit was taken over and renamed by the Maratha forces under Shivaji's rule. The fort contains a temple to Ganesh and some stone ruins. Its sisterfort is Irshalgad. The Ulahas River runs to the east of the fort. The Gadhi River, and the Chanderi and Peb forts are to the west. To the south isthe Patalganga River, and Manikgad and to the north is the Karnala fort. Dear Friends we invite you all for Night Trek to Kothaligad Peth Fort on 6 Mar 2016 leaving 5 Mar Sat night Kothaligad (also called Kotligad or Kothligad) is a small Fort (3100 ft) is situated to the east of Karjat near Karjat-Murbad Road in the Indianstate of Maharashtra. It is one of the famous treks in the Karjat area, because of its small height and easy climbing. It is also known as theFort of Peth because of its vicinity to Peth village at its base. There is a small temple and large cave at the base and a chimney like tunnel to the topof the fort. This pinnacle is carved from inside forming a staircase reaching the top. There is a tank of water at some distance from the cave and another one at the top of the fort. This tunnel is the high point of the trek, with its funnel like structure and steps along the inside in a steep ascent to the very top. Alang Fort (also Alangad) is a fort in Nashik district, Maharashtra, India. It is one of the three forts, the others being Madangad and Kulang, in the Kalsubai range of the Western Ghats. They are the most difficult to reach forts in Nasik District. A dense forest cover make these treks difficult.
