And one LONG weekend! That's Hampi for you, folks! Hampi!     Hampi is an ancient village located on the banks of River Tungabhadra in Karnataka. It is recognised by UNESCO as one of the World Heritage Sites in India.Standing within the ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire, it was renowned because of its immense wealth, flourishing art, literature and trade in ancient times. Now, the ruins of Hampi are captivating and unreal and are sure to leave you breathless, with stacks of giant boulders resting carelessly, blue skies with popcorn clouds and green paddy fields.       Dates: 5th to 7th March, 2016   4th March – Journey commences!    Leave from Mumbai by bus in the evening around 5.30 pm. 5th March– Exploring the Hip side!Reach Hospet this morning. Take a local transport to Hampi and a ferry ride across the river that divides Hampi in 2 parts (the cultural side and the hip side).  Check-in in the guest house and freshen up for the exciting day ahead. Spend the day exploring the hip side of Hampi on mopeds. In the evening, go swimming and cliff jumping in a lake. Enjoy a sunset atop a hill with guitars, drums and live music!  Return to the guest house for dinner.     6th March – Waterfalls and exploring the cultural side!   Have early breakfast leave to be amazed by the architectural heritage around the Royal Centre and the colorful Bazaar on the cultural side of Hampi. About RatangadRatan means Jewel in Hindi. This hill fort is indeed jewel in all the hill forts here in Sahyadri. It is located in the district of Ahmednagar and is located about 4255 feet above sea level. It lies in the Ajoba mountain range surrounded by great mountains of Kulang, Alang, Kalsubai, Katarabai, Ajoba and Ghanchakkar. Geographically Ratangad is at the banks of Bhandardara lake of Ahmednagar district. With views of lake and highest mountains in Sahyadris looks very much lost in time. At the base of this fort is ancient Lord Shiva (Amurteshwar) temple. About 1000 years old temple of Lord Shiva, the Amruteshwar Temple at Ratanwadi, is an absolute paragon of high class architectureRatangad has still the remains of fortress with bastions and stone walls. "RAC" ONE DAY TREK TO SANDHAN VALLEY (THE VALLEY OF SHADOW)  on 16th January 2015   Important notice – This trek is without Rapelling. Brief detail about SANDHAN VALLEY. Height : 4100 ft (Approx). Grade : Easy with thrilling and technical walk. Duration : 1 Day. SANDHAN VALLEY is located between the two high wall of mountain ranges. At some places its width is less than 3 ft and at some places Sun rays unable to reach the ground which gives it the name the  Valley of Shadow.   To  go at the end of George you haved to cross 2 to 3 water pools. Water levels changes according to season. In winter water is up to waist and summer it up to Knee high level.
