During the reign of the Satvahana (200 BCE-190 CE), the pass was extensively used as a trade route between Kalyan and Junnar. Literally, the name nane means "coin" and ghat means "pass". The name was given because this path was used as a toll booth to collect toll from traders crossing the hills. The location is ideal for star gazing and star photography. Naneghat offers different beauty in different seasons. In summer and winter, when there are no clouds, view of Jivdhan and Dhakoba is awesome. It can easily be reached by motorable road. Schedule: 6:30: Report at Kalyan and leave for Naneghat (approx 90 kms). 9:00: Reach Naneghat base and start the trek. 12:30: Reach top. Post lunch explore the top. 3:30: Start descending. 5:30: Reach base and leave for Kalyan. 7:30: Reach Kalyan. Date: 13th December, 2015 Cost: Rs 700/- per person.
