Wanderingsoulriders are glad to invite you for trek to Harishchandragad via Pachnai on 21st and 22nd November 2015.   Information about the fort: Harishchandragad: Type: Hill Fort Height: 4500 Feet above MSL (Approx) Grade: Easy (3 hrs trek) Region: Malshej Ghats Base Village: Pachnai,  Harishchandragad-The fort is quite ancient. Remnants of Microlithic man have been discovered here. The various Puranas (ancient scriptures) like Matsyapurana, Agnipurana and Skandapurana include many references about Harishchandragad. Its origin is said to have been in 6th century, during the rule of Kalchuri dynasty. The citadel was built during this era. The various caves probably have been carved out in the 11th century. In these caves are idols of Lord Vishnu. Though the cliffs are named Taramati and Rohidas, they are not related to Ayodhya. Great sage Changdev (one who created the epic "Tatvasaar"), used to meditate here in 14th century. The caves are from the same period. The various constructions on the fort and those existing the surrounding region point to the existence of diverse cultures here. The carvings on the temples of Nageshwar (in Khireshwar village), in the Harishchandreshwar temple and in the cave of Kedareshwar indicate that the fort belongs to the medieval period, since it is related to Shaiva, Shakta or Naath. Later the fort was under the control of Moguls. The Marathas captured it in 1747. Small Info About Tadoba (Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve ) Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra is the oldest national park in the state. Scenic with interesting wildlife sightings are assured at Tadoba and it is rightly called 'The Jewel of Vidharba'. The name 'Tadoba' is the name of the God "Tadoba" or "Taru", praised by the tribal people who live in the dense forests of the Tadoba and Andhari region, while the Andhari River that meanders through the forest. gives the 'Andhari' name. Legend holds that Taru was a village chief who was killed in a mythological encounter with a tiger. A shrine dedicated to the God Taru now exists beneath a huge tree, on the banks of the Tadoba Lake. The temple is frequented by adivasis, especially during the fair held every year in the Hindu month of Pausha, between December and January. The Gond kings once ruled these forests in the vicinity of the Chimur hills. Hunting was completely banned in 1935. Two decades later, in 1955, 116.54 km (45.00 sq mi) was declared a National Park. Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary was created on the adjacent forests in 1986, and in 1995, both the park and the sanctuary were merged to establish the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. Tadoba life with animals like the tiger, leopard, sloth bear, hyaena, wild dog, blue bull, wild cat, and sambar inhabit the reserve. My Mera India Group Tour Dates:------------------ Feb 5-7, 2016 March 25-27,2016Apr 8-11, 2016Apr 22-24, 2016May 13-15, 2016May 27-29, 2016June 3-5, 2016June 10-12, 2016   Tour Cost:-----------------Standard (S) INR 10750/-* Tour Package Inclusive*----------------------------------Four Open Jeep SafarisReturn Train Mumbai – Nagpur – MumbaiAccommodation twin sharing basis as per planAll tea, Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerAll Pickup and Drop Nagpur - Tadoba- Nagpur Six people per jeep (G6)For Photography tour four people per jeep (G4)(Call Us for cost)Tour Package Exclusive*---------------------------------All tea, ... Moments Shoot's Photo Tour to "Tadoba" Wild Life Safari - The Jewel of Vidharba on 24-25-26-27 Dec 2015 Tadoba TATR stands for Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve since it was included in the Project Tiger Program in the year. TATR is created by amalgamating Tadoba National Park & Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. The total area under the Project Tiger is 1727.6 sq.km with core area being 625. 82 sq.km and the rest 1101.78 sq.km constitute the buffer zone. The core area concept denotes critical tiger habitat which is subject to intense conservation measures with human intervention being minimal.      The lifeline of the park are the Andhari River, Erai Dam, Kolsa Lake, Junoria Lake and the Tadoba Lake. The river and water storage systems provide year long supply for fresh water to this amazing ecosystem. Besides small water bodies, rivulets and creeks exists in  the confines of dense forests in plains and hills. Man made water holes and small dams add to a life sustaining environment. These factors explain the prolific bio diversity of the region. Flora Tadoba reserve is a predominantly Southern tropical Dry Deciduous Forest with dense woodlands comprising about 87 per cent of the protected area. Teakis the prdominant tree species. Other deciduous trees include Ain (crocodile bark), Bija, Dhauda, Hald, Salai, Semal and Tendu. beheda, hirda, karaya gum, mahua Madhuca (Crepe myrtle) and Lannea coramandelica (Wodier Tree) are other common species. Fauna Aside from around 65 of the keystone species Bengal tiger, Tadoba Tiger Reserve is home to other mammals, including: Indian leopards, sloth bears, gaur, nilgai, dhole, striped hyena, small Indian civet, jungle cats, sambar, spotted deer, barking deer, chital, and chausingha.   Reptiles here include the endangered Indian python and the common Indian monitor. The Chadar Frozen River Trek Region: - Leh, Ladakh, J & K Duration: - 09 days Grade: - Difficult Max Altitude: - 11,123 Ft. Approx Trekking Km: - 75 kms. This trek is considered as one of the most exciting and unique treks – a very special and an extraordinary trek on shiny ice on the bank of Tsarap River. You will be dropped by a vehicle at Chilling Sumdo (crossed road) then your trek leads in a narrow valley filled with breath-taking views of ice-peaks and unexpected hanging icicles that will attract your gaze for some time. You will spend the night at cave camps with the help of a bonfire that will keep you warm and relaxed. Our daily trek begins at around 9:00am and by then the sun's up and blue skies bring cheer despite the cold temperatures. The trek goes along the Tsarap River in the region of Nyerag, Lingshed and constitutes to Zanskar!  Needless to say, having a good guide is critical on the Chadar trek. Trekking on the ice was intimidating. A covering of snow made it difficult to assess its thickness. At times we had to walk along a narrow margin of ice, constrained by the canyon wall on one side and deep rushing water on the other. Slipping in or falling through would not just be cold; it could be fatal. The water was deep and fast, and you would likely be swept under the ice in seconds.  For better or worse, the Chadar trek is an endangered activity and within 5 years will cease to exist in its current form. A road is currently being blasted out of the rock face above the river. When completed, winter access to the Zanskar valley villages in the interior will be relatively straight-forward. The road will certainly be safe and more convenient than the river, but its completion will mark the end of an ancient local practice.  The 'Chadar' is a perfect example of this resourcefulness of the Ladakhis and their indomitable spirit, in the face of such daunting odds. The term 'Chadar' means blanket in the local language, thereby giving an indication to ... Read more
