About the Place: Height: 4267 ft Region: Koyna wildlife Sanctuary Grade : Medium General Information:Vasota Fort (also called Vyaghragad) is located in Satara district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was famously defended by Tai Telin a mistress of Pant Pratinidhi a killedar of the fort when he was captured. Vasota fort is attributed to the Kolhapur Shilahara Raja Bhoja II (1178–1193) of Panhala. Vasota always remained with Marathas, Shirkes & Mores in 16th century & then incorporated in Swarajya by Shivaji Maharaj in 1655 during the conquest of Javli. Shivaji Maharaj named the fort "Vyaghragad" (Vyaghra – means tiger), owing to its difficult natural defense. After Shivaji Maharaj, the brave Maratha Bajirao Peshwa carried on the Swarajya mission of ousting the Mughal invaders from our country.     Meeting Point: Dadar stn(E) near Swami Narayan Temple at 11:00pm. The fort was sparingly used by the Karnala rulers including Angres, Mudhan and Peshwas until 1818, by which time British rulers have taken over the grand old fort under their control. The fort doorway is adorned with many carvings of elephants and tigers.   About the Place:Naneghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range near Junnar in Pune district of Maharashtra, India. During the reign of the Satavahana, the pass was extensively used as a trade route between Kalyan and Junnar. It is situated 55kms from Kalyan. It is believed that a powerful woman ruler Naganika, the wife of Satakarni (180–170 BCE) of the Satavahana family commissioned the cave, the statues and the inscriptions. Ratangad is probably best scenic fort in Maharashtra. situated near Bhandardara Dam in the Igatpuri region, Nagar District. It is situated at an altitude of 4255 feet above the sea level. We will get spectacular views of Sahyadri as you get in Grand CanyonS. History: Ratangad is about 2000 years old, is famous for the Amruteshwar temple at the base village, Ratanwadi. This temple was built by Raja Jhanj in 6th century. The architecture of this temple was in Hemadpanti style. Hello Wanderers,We are glad to invite you for a Night trek to Sarasgad on 1st November 2015, Leaving on 31st October(Saturday).     About the Place: Sarasgad  fort is near Pali village(Fifth Ashtavinayaka temple), off Mumbai - Goa highway. Sarasgad fort is at a height of 1400 ft. On top is a vast expense of dilapidated fort, caves used for storing food and water. Except for a few steep rocky patches, the climb is relatively easy. There is also an easy access, with steps carved on rocks right from the bottom.   Meeting point: CST railway station at 9:45pm.We will be boarding Fast Local till Khopoli leaving CST at 10:04pm.
