Dear Friends we invite you all for One of the toughest treks of Sahyadri Alang and Madan Forts on 22nd-23th Oct 2015 (Leaving 21st Oct 2015)  This Forts have played very important role in history, as Britishers destroyed the stairs to these forts, scaling theses forts have become the biggest challenge since then. Alang enjoys a 70 ft straight rock patch graded the most difficult as compared to the other forts while  Madan bears a 50 ft rock patch comparatively easier. Besides the thrill in ascending the forts they also provide mesmerizing view of the surrounding area. Back waters of the Bhandardara Dam,  Ghatghar Dam, Ratnagad,Ajoba Fort, Kulang, Kalsubai, Aunda, Patta, Bitangad, Trimbakeshwar Range& many more Forts. Hampi is an ancient village located on the banks of River Tungabhadra in Karnataka. It is recognised by UNESCO as one of the World Heritage Sites in India.Standing within the ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire, it was renowned because of its immense wealth, flourishing art, literature and trade in ancient times. Now, the ruins of Hampi are captivating and unreal and are sure to leave you breathless, with stacks of giant boulders resting carelessly, blue skies with popcorn clouds and green paddy fields.   5th November – Journey commences  Leave from Mumbai by bus in the evening around 5.30 pm.   6th November – Exploring the Hip side Reach Hospet early morning. Take a local transport to Hampi and a ferry ride across the river that divides Hampi in 2 parts (the cultural side and the hip side).  Check-in in our guest house and freshen up for the exciting day ahead. Spend the day exploring the hip side of Hampi on mopeds. In the evening, go swimming in a lake and cliff jumping. Hello Wanderers,We are glad to invite you for delightful Trek to Korigad Fort on 18th October 2015.   *Picture sourced from internet (wikipedia)   About the Fort:Korigad (also called Koraigad, Koarigad or Kumwarigad) is a fort located about 20 km away from Lonavla in Pune district, Maharashtra, India. Its date of construction is not known but likely predates 1500. It is about 929 m above sea level. The closest village is Peth Shahpur. This fort was focrcibly taken over into his kingdom by Chhatrapati Shivaji along with the forts of Lohagad, Visapur, Tung and Tikona in 1657. On March 11, 1818, Col. Prother tried to take over this fort but even after a prolonged siege could not make any headway. Finally on 14 March, by igniting the stored ammunition by means of a loose cannon ball he succeeded and this fort went to the British. Now because of the Mulshi dam, a lake has formed close to the base of the hill on which Korigad stands. There are two lakes on the top of the fort.[3] A temple to its patron goddess Koraidevi also exists along with several smaller temples to dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva. The former has been recently renovated and has a 3 foot high Deepmala(tower of lamps). The interesting part of the fort is that its wall is completely intact and one can walk along its entire perimeter(about 2 km). Its massive gate is also intact. Several ruins of older structures within the fort still exist. Itinerary : Day 0: Catch the CST-Kasara train as per the timings mentioned. 10:50 pm – CST. 10:57 pm – Byculla. 11:05 pm – Dadar. 11:13 pm – Kurla. 11:18 pm – Ghatkopar. 11:34 pm – Thane. 11:57 pm – Dombivali. 12:07 am – Kalyan. 01:18 am – Kasara. Day 1: 01:30 am – Depart to Samrad by a Private Vehicle 04:00 am – Reach Samrad. Proceed for some rest and breakfast. 07:00 am – Move towards the base exploring Sandhan Valley. Rappel down a few patches. Lunch mid way. (The route few small rappelling patches, the biggest one being 40-50ft approx and we have to go through water upto 4-5ft deep for approximately 30 meters on the way.
