Depot, right in the middle of the bazaar. It is the Kuladaivat of a lot of Kokanastha Chitpavan Brahmins (Surnames like Patwardhan,Godbole, Damle, Oak, Phadke, Apte, Abhyankar, Soman, Bhat, Ranade, Joglekar, Agashe, Kelkar, Deodhar, Pethe, Gadre).• Ufarata Ganpati - This temple of Lord Ganesha is 200 metres away from Bazaar, on the road to Anjanvel/Veldoor. The idol is carved in white stone (marble?) and was found by local fishermen around 300 years back. There is a legend associated with this idol, that's worth taking a note.Bamanghal on the Hedvi Beach• Guhagar Beach - Guhagar beach is one of the cleanest and less polluted beaches in Maharashtra. It is located just within 200 metres from Guhagar S.T. Depot towards west. The beach looks pretty safe though there are warnings posted by local villagers. Off late, Chat stalls have started making business on the shore.View of Budhal Village• Velaneshwar - Approximately 25 KM south of Guhagar, along Guhagar-Hedvi road, is located this beautiful temple of Lord Shiva. The temple is right on the pristine sea shore. Just like Vyadeshwar, this too is Kuladaivat of lots of Kokanastha Chitpavan Brahmins. (Surnames like Gokhale, Raste, Dev, Gadgil, Tulpule). The Reserve contains some of the best of forest tracks and endowed with rich biodiversity. It is famous for its natural heritage. Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve is the second Tiger Reserve in the State. Tadoba-Andhari Tiger reserve was created in 1995. The area of the Reserve is 625.40 sq. km. This includes Tadoba National Park, created in 1955 with an area of 116.55 sq. km. and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary created in 1986 with an area of 508.85 sq. km. The Reserve is constituted with 577.96 sq. km. Reserve Forest, 32.51 sq. km. Protected Forest and 14.93 sq. km. other areas.Needless to say, everyone at some point of their lives has heard about Amte family's remarkable social projects given suitable abode at these three places. Anandwan is the realization of a dream of one man - Baba Amte and his team of volunteers. Founded in 1948 and registered in 1951, Anandwan today is a self contained village.After marriage, Baba began working for leprosy struck patients just outside Warora, and started 11 weekly clinics there. He later started Anadwan which literally means 'Forest of joy'.Baba visited Hemalkasa Gadchiroli in 1973 and found the condition of the Madia Gond tribe there to be appalling. The area was completely cut off from civilization. Illiteracy being a total and medical care completely unheard of, malnutrition, leprosy, malaria and tuberculosis were rife. Top of the fort is huge plateau. There are two caves on the fort for staying and 11 water cisterns arranged in a Cascade formation & a dilapidated storage room.Mandan (4841 ft):Madangad is considered to be one of the most difficult forts to climb among all the forts in the Sahyadris.
