It is perched at an altitude of 3658m, where you may spot animals like Asiatic black deer, snow leopard, musk deer, red fox, brown bear and blue sheep. It's a core zone of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve and myriad alpine flowers make this place a colorful paradise. Pushpawati River bifurcates the valley into two parts. Cascading waterfalls are abundant while you're traversing towards the valley. Declared as the National Park in 1982, the pristine beauty, mystical surroundings lures nature lovers, photographers and botanists. Valley of Flowers remains covered with a thick blanket of snow during the winter season. It is in full bloom during July, September and September. Hemkund Sahib: Hemkund Sahib is the world's highest Gurudwara, situated at an altitude of 13500 feet. The Dasam Granth says God ordered Sikh Guru Gobind Singh to take birth while he was in deep meditation at the mount of Hemkund. Hemkund Sahib is always cold throughout the year. It is accessible only for 4 months in a year from June to September and rest of the time it is full of snow. The weather at Hemkund Sahib changes very rapidly. Mana Village: Mana is the last village before the Mana Pass, 24 kms from Tibet border. During winter the entire village is covered with snow. There is a small cave in Mana, named Vyas Gufa and it is believed that Maharshi Vyas composed Mahabharatha in this cave. Other nearby places include Ganesh Gufa Vasudhara Falls, Satopanth Lake, Bhim Pul, etc. Mana village holds a lot of mythological relevance and we can actually see traces of the Mahabharata scattered across this small village. The houses here are small with a kitchen garden in the backyard, where the locals grow their own vegetables like spinach, cauliflower and potato, and sell these to small hotels in Badrinath. Macro photography is a tool, which opens up the door to this whole new world of unseen beauties of nature. However, understanding the techniques involved in this fine art and maximizing the usage of the equipment you have is very important in order to deliver a brilliant output.
