Hampta Pass Trek is a moderate trek with a scope for varying the duration to suit ones time. The beauty of this trek everyday the landscape changes. You start the trek in thick forest and then enter in open valleys with lush green cover of grass then the tree line stops and you cross to Hampta Pass and enter the barren landscape of Lahaul & Spiti and visit to Chandratal lake is icing on the cake. Hampta Pass Trek takes us over the majestic foothills of the Himalayas, the Pir Panjal Range, crossing at Hampta Pass (14100 Ft.) Itinerary Detail (Hampta Pass Trek) Chika Day 1 Drive from Manali (6000 ft) to Jobra than start trek to Chika (10100 ft). We will meet at Manali Bus stand and then we will drive from Manali (6000 ft) to Jobra and after briefing session we start our trek to Chika (10100 ft) our today's camp. Today's trek is a 2 hour easy ascent from 9700 ft to 10,400 ft through thick forest and crossing small bridge. While trekking we can see the Rani river on one side and a big rocky hill on the other. The trek passes through some of the most spectacular landscape. Overnight camp at Chika. Balu Ka Ghera Day 2 Chika (10100 ft) to Balu ka Ghera (11900 ft) .5 hrs easy ascent. The third day trek is a gradual ascent. While trekking we will be able to see the spectacular Dhauladhar range in the background and Indrasan peak in front. The best part of today's trek that we have to cross two rivers one at the start just near to Chikka Campsite and other at Jwara Nala. We will have our packed lunch after crossing the jwara nala. Siagoru Day 3 Balu ka Gera (11900 ft) to Siagoru (12900 ft) Crossing Hampta Pass (14100 ft). This is the most spectacular part of the trek as we cross the Hampta Pass and then descend to our camp site in Siagoru. From Hampta Pass you can see the Indrasan Peak and its gigantic glacier.Today's trek will take us approximately 8hrs to reach Siagoru. The ascent on this part of the Hampta Pass trek will be moderate. Chandra Tal Day 4 Siagoru (12900 ft) to Chatru (11000 ft) 4 hrs. Drive to Chandra Tal. This day we have an easy descent through the Hampta Valley. The massive mountains of the Pir Panjal and Spiti ranges dominate the entire landscape till the camp site at Chatru. Chatru is a confluence point of paths from Rohtang Pass, Hamta Pass and Spiti. From Chatru if road and weather condition permit we head to the Chandra Tal and camp at suitable place according to the conditions. Manali Day 5 Drive from Chandra tal/Chatru to Manali via the Rohtang Pass. In the morning after breakfast we leave for Manali via the Rohtang Pass. It became backwater when dam was constructed at Linganamakki of sagara taluk in Shivamogga(Shimoga) district to the river Sharavathi. This backwater has created lots of islands, it is so great to explore all these, where thick vegetation still exist and lots of wild life in it including some rare birds. Accomdation:- Doom tents along with backwater or Rooms with attached bathroom away from backwater . Food:- Food is going to be Simple Vegetarian food and it will be freshly cooked food at the camp site. Typical itinerary for Trek and Water sports activities for 2 days:- Day 1:- Reach Trek starting point and have Breakfast. Start the trek towards water falls. Spend some time in falls Have lunch and rest for a while Trek back to trek end point Travel back to Backwater camp site Day 2:- Wake up,Freshen up and Have Breakfast Group Introductory session and initial briefing by the Camp leader Introducing everyone to water, and a small swimming/floating session. The valley of flowers is a world heritage site and is part of the famous Nanda Devi Biosphere. Words like enchanting, scintillating, and magical have been used to describe this place of wonder. Acknowledged by renowned mountaineers, botanists and in literature, the valley of flowers is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. It's known for its serenity and ability to spread an aura of calmness. A place where you can reflect and bring peace to your otherwise hectic lifestyle. Wildlife enthusiasts can also get a glimpse of many rare and endangered species of animals such as the Asiatic black bear, brown bear, snow leopard, blue sheep and more. But along with the Valley of flowers, the itinerary also includes an optional visit to Auli, a ski resort, Hemkund Sahib and a visit to the revered Badrinath temple. On the way, you shall visit Devprayag, Rudraprayag. Karnprayag and Nandprayag, four of the historic "PanchPrayag's" river confluences. By evening you shall reach Joshimath and check into the hotel. Over there you will watch a documentary filmed on Valley of flowers at GovindGhat. For the adventurous, Joshimath is a gateway to several climbing expeditions and trekking trails. DAY 02: Joshimath – GovindGhat – Ghangria (Trek 13 km) This is when your journey really begins. After breakfast, drive to reach Govindghat (1828 mts / 22Km), a pilgrim hamlet. This is where your trek to the Valley of flowers and Hemkund begins! First it's off to Ghangria (3049 mt / 14 km Trek) with packed lunch. The 14 km trek from GovindGhat to Ghangria goes all the way along the river and you will be greeting with many waterfalls along with other scenic splendors. Ghangria is also known as GOVIND DHAM, the base camp for visiting Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers. DAY 03: Ghangria – Valley of Flowers – Ghangria (Trek 6kms total) The valley of flowers is about 5kms from Ghangria. The whole valley is dotted with varieties of exotic flowers and other flora. Leave Ghangria early to give yourself the whole day to spend at the Valley of flowers, easy 3km ascent. Over here you have the freedom to enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife that surrounds you! The whole day is yours to enjoy in whichever way you choose. Then of course, it's back to Ghangria for your overnight stay. DAY 04: Ghangria – HemkundSaheb – Ghangria (Trek 6km) Early in the morning start trekking (6 Km) to reach “HEMKUND SAHIB”, one of the most revered of all Sikh Shrines. It is also the World's Highest Gurudwara, situated at an altitude of 4,329mts. The Hemkund Sahib Lake remains frozen for six months so you can easily walk around to the other side! There is also a Lakshman temple built on the bank of the lake. Encircled by seven snow clad peaks and their associated glaciers, it reflects its surroundings enchantingly on its crystal clear serene waters. This is a sight not to be missed! The glaciers from HathiParvat and Saptrishi peaks feed the lake and a small stream called Himganga flows out of this lake. For the history lovers, according to religious texts, Guru Govind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikh faith had meditated on the bank of this lake in one of his earlier births. In the afternoon, trek back down to reach Ghangria for overnight stay. Evening is free for rest & relaxation. DAY 05: Ghangria – GovindGhat – Badrinath-Joshimath 14 km easy descent return trek to Govindghat and then drive to Joshimath via Badrinath. On arrival, check into hotel. DAY 06: Joshimath – Haridwar Morning breakfast and drive to Haridwar. On arrival transfer to the station time to catch train. List of Essentials: 1. Shirts / T-shirts 2. Trousers / Track Pants 3.
