Posted: 22 Aug 2015 05:00 PM PDT Visapur Fort is a hill fort near Visapur village. It is a part of the Lohagad-Visapur fortification. It is located in Pune district, 9 to 10 km from Malavli railway station out of which 5km is a steep road. It has an elevation of 1084 meters above sea level. It is built on the same plateau as Lohagad. Visapur Fort is larger and at a higher elevation than its twin fort- Lohagad. Within the fort are caves, cisterns of water, a decorated arch and old houses. These two roofless buildings surrounded by outer or veranda walls, were supposed to be government offices. The ruins of a large stone-built house are known as the Peshwa’s palace. In addition to a huge carving of Hanuman, there are also several temples dedicated to him scattered all over the place. Hanuman was likely the patron deity of Visapur fort. Schedule: 5:15- Report at Pune railway station.SHARP 7:00- Reach Malavali and start the trek. 9:30- Reach Visapur top and explore. 11:00- have lunch. 12:00- Start descending 3:00- Take train back to Pune. 4:30- Reach Pune. Cost: Rs 300/- per person. Cost Includes: Railway travel from Pune to Malavli and back. Breakfast. Expertise. Cost Excludes: Lunch. It is located in the district of Ahmednagar and is located about 4255 feet above sea level. It lies in the Ajoba mountain range surrounded by great mountains of Kulang, Alang, Kalsubai, Katarabai, Ajoba and Ghanchakkar. Geographically Ratangad is at the banks of Bhandardara lake of Ahmednagar district. With views of lake and highest mountains in Sahyadris looks very much lost in time. At the base of this fort is ancient Lord Shiva (Amurteshwar) temple. About 1000 years old temple of Lord Shiva, the Amruteshwar Temple at Ratanwadi, is an absolute paragon of high class architecture Ratangad has still the remains of fortress with bastions and stone walls. Water cisterns are usually filled with water throughout the year and trekkers use them as water source. Eastern side of the fort has some fortification left, one can see Rani mahal here. From the southern side on can see Katrabai and Ajoba fort very close….
