Dear Friends we invite you all for Tour to Amboli Ghat & Gokak Falls on 15 & 16 August 2015.Leaving 14 Aug 2015'Friday Night Amboli is a hill station in sawantwadi ,south Maharashtra, India. At an altitude of 690 m it is the last hill station before the coastal highlands of Goa  and a relatively unexplored one. Beauty of Amboli Ghat can't be Described in Words. Amboli lies in the Sahayadri Hills of Western India, one of the world's "Eco Hot-Spots"and it therefore abounds in a variety of fairly unique flora & fauna. In the hills of Amboli village lies the source of the Hiranyakeshi river, and an ancient Shiva temple (called Hiranyakeshwar) exists at the cave where the water emerges. The main attraction for tourists is the incredibly high rainfall (7 m average per year) and the numerous waterfalls and mist during the monsoons. Legend has it that there are 108 Shiva temples in and around Amboli of which only a dozen have been uncovered, one as recently as 2005. Amboli is quiet, unpolluted and the local residents are good natured and helpful. Gokak falls : The Gokak Falls is a waterfall located on the Ghataprabha River in Belagavi district of Karnataka, India. The waterfall is six kilometers away from Gokak. After a long winding course, the Ghataprabha river takes a leap of 52 metres (171 ft) over the sand-stone cliff amidst a picturesque gorge of the rugged valley, resembling Niagara Falls on a smaller scale. The waterfall is horse shoe shaped at the crest, with a flood breadth of 177 metres (581 ft). During rainy season, the thick reddish brown water sweeps far over the brink of the cliff with a dull roar that can be heard from some distance. There is a hanging bridge across the river, measuring about 201 metres (659 ft). Its height above the rock bed is 14 metres (46 ft). There is an old electricity generation station and electricity was generated here for the first time in 1887. The places that we will be visiting are: 1) Amboli Waterfall Main attracti... Read more
