TREKS AND TRAILS INDIA IS GOING FOR SRINAGAR-MANALI-LEH EXPEDITION

SRINAGAR-MANALI-LEH EXPEDITION
28TH AUGUST TO 8THSEPTEMBER 2015
An expedition which covers:
  • Lakes Covered: Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri Tso Kar, Surajtal, Deepak Tal, Chandratal, Kiagar Tso
  • Passes Covered: Zoji La, Fotu La, Khardung La, Chang La, Lachulung La, Nakee La, Baralacha La, Kunzum La, Rohtang La.
  • Other Places - Korzok Monastery, Lamayuru Monastery, Shey Palace, Thicksey Monastery, Rock Carved Mulbekh Maitrey, Lunar Landscapes, Diskit Monastery, Gurudwara Pather Sahib, Magnetic Hills, Sham Valley
These are just few to name….
Day 1: Srinagar – Sonamarg – Zojila Pass – Drass – Kargil
Visit:  Great vistas of Drass Valley with views of Tiger Hill, Kargil War Memorial
  • Reach early morning to Srinagar or reach on any previous day (Loose End)
  • Enjoy the vistas en-route especially the lush green Minamarg Meadows
  • Have late brunch meal at Drass
  • Overnight at Kargil
  • About 8-9 Hrs drive, depending upon the traffic movement at Zozila and breaks in between
Day 2 : Kargil – Lamayuru - Leh
Visit: Rock Carved Mulbekh Maitrey, Lamayuru Monastery, Lunar Landscapes
  • Hit the roads by 6:00 AM
  • On the way to Leh you can also see Gurudwara Pather Sahib, Magnetic Hills, Confluence at Nimmu
  • Overnight at Leh
  • About 9-10 Hrs drive, depending upon the breaks in between
Day 3: Leh Local
Visit: Leh Main Market, Leh Palace or just rest
Stay @ Leh
Day 4 :  Leh - Khardung La - Diskit
Visit: Khardung la , highest motorable road (as claimed), Diskit Monastery, which has 106 Feet tall Buddha statue, Go for Camel Safari over Hunder Sand Dunes in the evening
  • Hit the roads by 6.30 AM
  • Head for Nubra Valley and stay overnight at Hunder / Diskit
  • On the way enjoy a cup of Tea at Highest Motorable Pass (as claimed) Khardung La
  • Diskit has monasteries with tallest lord Buddha statue
  • Hunder has sand dunes and double humped bacterian camel safari
  • About 5-6 Hrs drive, depending upon the breaks in between and at Khardung La
Day 5 : Diskit – Sumur – Panamik – Sumur – Khardung La – Leh
Visit: Hot water springs @ Panamik
  • Hit the roads by 6.30 AM
  • Overnight at Leh
  • About 7-8 Hrs drive, depending upon the breaks in between
Day 6 :  Leh – Hemis Monastery – Chang La Pass - Pangong Tso Lake
Visit: Hemis Monastery,
Pangong Tso: One of the largest salt water lakes in the world which is 1/3rd in India and rest in Tibet
  • Hit the roads by 6.00 AM
  • Witness the the largest monastic institution in Ladakh – Hemis Monastery
  • Dash for a day trip to Pangong Tso to experience the blue hues
  • Overnight at Pangong Tso
  • About 6-7 Hrs drive, depending upon the breaks in between
Suggested lunch point: Packaged Lunch 
Day 7 : Pangong Tso Lake – Thicksey Monastery – Shey Palace – Leh
Visit: Shey Palace, Thicksey Monastery,
Pangong Tso: One of the largest salt water lakes in the world which is 1/3rd in India and rest in Tibet
  • Wakeup witnessing the beauty of Pangong Tso lake
  • Travel to Thicksey Monastery and Shey Palace
  • Back to Leh
  • 5-6 hours of drive, depending upon the breaks in between
Suggested lunch point: Packaged Lunch

Day 8 : Leh – Tso Moriri via Chumathang
Visit: Kiagar Tso, a small lake on the way to Tso Moriri,
Tso Moriri , high altitude salt water lake changes colors many times a day
  • Hit the roads by 6.00 AM
  • Kiagar Tso, a small lake on the way to Tso Moriri,
  • Cover Korzok Monastery and Hot springs at Chumathang
  • Explore Something Unexplored at Tso Moriri or Rest before the next long day
  • Overnight at Tso Moriri
  • About 8-9 Hrs drive, depending upon the breaks 
Day 9 : Tso Moriri – Tso Kar – Moore Plains – Sarchu - Jispa
Visit (en route): Tso Kar, Moore Plains, Pang, Lachulung la @ 16616 ft, Nakee la @ 15547 ft, Gata Loops
·         Early morning we leave from Tso Moriri for TsoKar
·         The lake is very popular with bird watchers as the marshlands surrounding the lake supports an amazing array of bird life.
·         The common birds that are seen are Brahmni ducks, bar headed geese and great crested grebe. The main attraction, however, is the black necked crane. The black necked cranes, known for their fidelity, come to Tso Kar to lay eggs. 

Day 10 :  Jispa – Manali
Visit (en route): Rohtang Pass @ 13,054 ft
Travel time: 5-6 hrs odd
Stay @ Manali at 6,730 ft

Tour Charges: 32000/- per person (excluding Train / Flight bookings)

a.       Srinagar to Leh drop in two days with overnight halt at Kargil
b.      Ladakh sightseeing as follows:
i.    Sham Valley Tour
ii.    Nubra Valley –Turtuk –Leh  in 3 days with overnight halt at Deskit
iii.    Pangong Tso – Leh in two days with overnight halt at Pangong Tso
iv.    Leh –  Manali in 3 days with overnight halt at Tsomoriri & Sarchu
PACKAGE EXCLUSIONS:
·         Any Manali – Delhi Volvo Bus tickets. (Can be arranged at additional cost)
·         Any Airfare to and from Leh or any other destination.
·         Any Camel Safari Charges, Boating, Rafting and any other type of adventure activity etc.
·         Any additional costs due to Natural Crises, Road Blocks and Flight Delay/Cancellation.
·         Any extra meals above Itinerary, Laundry, Telephone Charges, Camera Fee, Room service, Extra Beds.
·         Any Tips, Insurance, Laundry, Phone Calls,
·         Any kind of Drinks (Alcoholic, Mineral, Aerated).
·         Any kind of Personal Expenses, Optional Tours, Extra Meals Ordered.
·         Any Medical & Travel insurance
·         Anything which is not mentioned under the category “PACKAGE INCLUSIONS”

·         We will share the receipt of the advance payment and send CONFIRMATION

        ·NOTE : Camps are provided on First cum First Serve Basis. There are two rows of camps, one at front and other at back, please reach in time at Pangong Tso to get the option to choose among camps. The late you will reach the less options we will have. However, facilities in all camps are same.
Cancellation and Refund:
1. If cancellation done prior to 20 days of outing 75% will be refunded.
2. If done prior to 15 days of outing 50% will be refunded
3. After that no refund will be provided.
Rules:
Trek leader’s decision will be final and binding.
TreksandTrails reserves all the right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without prior notice.
Telephonic confirmation is mandatory, if unable to contact send a text message and we will call you back.
Sleeveless, low neck, figure hugging shirts/skirts/tops, short pants, hot pants not allowed.
Please avoid wearing Gold and other jewellery (at own risk)
Please do not carry handbags or Jholas or Sling bags on treks.
