Cycling season ends with Kolad – tamhinighat – lonavala route. Ticket reserved for St bus Borivali-Mahad. Thus nit 12Mar. 10p.m. Cycle loaded on top of bus. Due holi festival long weekend bus was totally packed. I was lucky to load cycle on top, later no space remain on bus. Mumbai – goa highway was full of traffic, so by 3o’clock was @ Kolad. Find one autorickshaw near house, so open my sleeping bag, locked cycle & slept for hour. Full invitation for mosquitoes to have fresh mumbaiyaa maal- blood. Wake up by 4:15 am. Fresh up & had tea n bread – butter. Enquiry about route for tamhinighat, answer was road is good ,but he suggest to wait till sunrise. But I didn’t stop, want to use morning time to climb up asap. So @ 4:50 am started paddling. Left highway cross rail track by 3km n I had to stop. It was dense fog in my way. Visibility was very low. I was little scary now to ride. Not ‘coz of any wild beast, but of trucks coming from bhira dam. three year b4 I was in these region for three times twice for hiking n once river rafting. So geographically I was familiar with route. So I stopped village Garv, still holi Fire was on. Some villagers were playing cards. They enquiry about me n where was going, so I explain my journey. They were amazed! later offer me tea , I felt happy n cozy now. 5:30 again I started for paddling, don’t want waste my time. Still fog was on road, so my speed was lower then avg. 6o’clock some shades were visible on top of mountain range. Had some pics n then started with speed. Elevation was too tough n after 9am Sun started pouring heat. By the time 1 St step of mountain was crossed. As expected time I was 30 min behind. Later it was wind from opposite side which was pulling back. These time wind really let me off from my bike n ask to walk, pushing cycle by hand. Most of time had to do same. Some how cross those windy part n now I was almost close to top of tamhinighat. N Sun was already feeling me like c that I was close to some volcanoes. @ top b4 pimpri dam. There is MCKS ashram, waited for while refuel my self n my water bag. Had some snacks. 11:45. I was @ top point of tamhinighat. N had crossed only 53 km in 5:30 hrs. Later from pimpri dam my journey turn towards lonavala via amby valley. I fresh up my self @ dam just dive into water & start paddling. Next destination was bhamburde village 15km away. But now road???! We’re terrible to drive. I can suggest Enduro to route this for nxt event. In hot condition I don’t want face for my cycle get punctured, so paddle slowly. After 1:30 hrs was @ bhamburde village. Hostel was located b4 village. Good location empty of space for school, play ground, hostel area. I visit inside n refile my water bag again. Kids were watching IND vs W. Indies match. Just had glimpses with them & umesh yadav drop catch. So I turn around n stared paddling. Left side was Ghangadh n later Tailbaila trek but now I was avoiding to waste energy to have picks. Now I was feeling very tiered.still 2 hughe climbs were pending of my journey till nxt amby valley. N road were totally wear n tear. Some how pushing cycle I cross those n luckily found pipe was liking side of rd. Showering water for welcoming me again I put my stuff aside n stand below n wet my self. Heaven to be in water after such ride. 5min brake n proceed towards amby valley. By 2p.m. I was there. Again had small brake n paddle towards lonavala. By 4:15p.m. I was in city. I booked room @ lodge, close to station lock my bike went I room. Asked dinner by 6 p.m. Till enjoyed remaining match n India was winning. By 6:30 I was in deep sleep. Friday ends. Now it was sat 6:30 am feeling fresh after very long sleep. Packed up all my stuff n left
Lodge. Had sandwich n tea @ Kumar resort n descend till khopoli. There enquiry shortcut route for karjat. I already checked I map but road condition want to know. Friday had lots of
Bump n pain, so want to avoid those again. So short cut route was good 5-6 km off rd. N later it was highway till karjat. Happy time for me. In karjat had coconut water n malai. Then my final destination was Savla village, where my fmly waiting. It was smooth n simple route. Just b4 village Ulhas river crosses road. I check ed water was
Flowing good. So again I turn my cycle into river. Didn’t stop till I was
In river. That part was my winning trophy. Feeling fresh in water. Now in few minutes I was @ home. And all were happy. Journey end by 11:15 am on Sat. But then I decide these was my last long journey of summer. It took everything out of me. Nature is always gr8. N I can’t go against him. 144km paddle in 1.5 days
