Bhramar Trek to ARNALA Fort on 14th APR.2013

Dear All,

We, Bhramar have arranged a one day tour to Kille Arnala on 14th April 2013.

Prominent historian Mr.Shridatta Raut will accompany us on this tour.
He will guide and speak on below points throughout the tour.

1.History of Arnala Fort.
2.Monuments in fort.
3.Role of Arnala Fort in Vasai Campaign .

Little Info about The Fort

Present:
The fort walls are in very good condition. However inside the fort, the villagers have their own private agricultural plots on which vegetables are grown. Arnala fort village has a population of 3000 and mainly inhabited by the fishermen community.
Things to see:

Arnala fort is located on an island off the village Arnala which is lies on the north western corner of the Vasai Taluka. The fort offers to see its big walls which are still strong and have a wide pathway. The fort is spread on about 4 ha of area and has oval shape. There are some inscriptions on the main entrance which indicate that the fort was renovated by Peshva Bajirao I. Carvings of Tiger and elephant can be found on the outer stone entrance. There are in all 9 bastions. The fort premises also have one well which has octagonal shape and known as Pushkarini. There are temples of Trimbakeshwar, Bhavani Mata, Swami Nityanand and two tombs. At the southern end of the island there is one lone bastion and has one small window like entrance.

Meeting Point : Virar Station Time 8:00 A.M.We will have breakfast and then proceed to kille Arnala.
From Arnala Jetty there is regular small motorboat service to Arnala fort village and takes 15 minutes to reach.
Jetty is not so good in condition so one needs to get into water (upto knee level) to climb on motorboat.

Things To Be carried:
1) Id Proof
2) Two Liter water, (Compulsory).
3) Torch with extra batteries (compulsory)
4) Some ready to eat food. (Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.)
5) Medicine those if u require usually (Optional)
6) A good trekking shoes/sandals
7) Camera, Cap etc. (Optional).
8) 2-3 bunch of papers

A haversack to put in all the things to be carried....so that one has hands free while walking.
Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
The cost for the Trek is Rs 300/- per head
Which includes Travelling from Virar to Virar, Morning Breakfast, Lunch, and Evening
Refreshment.

All are requested to confirm participation before 10th April 2013 by making full payment of
trek charges.50% of the per head cost of trek will be collected by participant, if participation is
cancelled on Trek day after confirming the name.

Registrations are only through phone calls (scraps, reply to this thread won’t be considered as
confirmation)
Do Not Litter:

Participants are requested to carry the waste back to the city and dispose it off in dustbins.
All our treks are Eco-friendly, kindly take care of nature around us. Smoking and Drinking
alcohol during trek is strictly prohibited if anyone found doing that will be expelled from trek
without refund. Respect the Heritage and culture.

Be a group: It is of utmost importance that all participants stick together in the group.
Everyone is responsible for his/her own safety.
