WHAT : An attempt to raise maximum donation in Rs. / articles for helping the OLIVE RIDLEY TURTLE CONSERVATION initiative taken by Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra http://snmcpn.in/.
Working at the grass route lever for saving these baby turtles this NGO is always in need of help. Mumbai Travellers being the eco-tourism organization to conduct maximum number of travellers to Velas Turtle Festival from last 2 years also feels the need to stand up on social responsibility ground and hence this initiative by MT (www.mumbaitravellers.com)
HOW :
You can donate anything between Rs. 50 to 5000 for this initiative. If you do not wish to donate in terms of money, you can donate some articles that you think will be helpful for the NGO to work more efficiently. The donation sum raised by Mumbai Travellers will be handed over to Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra on the next batch of Turtle Festival tour by Mumbai Travellers (in March end / April month)

THE NEED :
In about last 10 years, the NGO has protected 19000 eggs of Olive Ridley Turtles at Velas. The statistic says that out of every 100 eggs laid, only 60 hatch out as baby turtles and out of every 1000 baby turtles releases in sea, only 1 survives till breeding maturity. Hence these turtle need to be conserved with great efficiency, else the entire food chain will break down. Its very simple - Every single baby turtle matters !!!
WHY MUMBAI TRAVELLERS ? :
Though a professional organization in 360 degree tourism, Mumbai Travellers has always been into taking Social Initiative and successfully doing it since establishment. We have already taken up Social initiatives like: Sandhan Temple Redevelopment, Velas Turtle Nest Adoption 2012 and Computer Donation at Samrad Village.So far we have got amazing response and Support from our Travellers in successfully Completing this Social Initiatives. We believe in Giving to those who are in Need and to support who are doing Great in such field.
So lets Join hands for this Initiative and Support the volunteers, villagers and nature lovers at Velas village for their great deeds towards their Parental Care for Baby Turtles !!
NOTE :
1. So far Rs. 5000 is raised by participants of TURTLE FESTIVAL TOUR batch 3 participants.
2. Mumbai Travellers shall declare names of every donor publicly to maintain transparency
3. Co-founder of Mumbai Travellers - Saurabh Thakekar, Nilesh Haldankar and Jogi Prajapati have donated Rs.1000 each on personal ground.
