Harihar Fort is, located in Igatpuri region of WesternGhats.Situated at an altitude of about 3, 676 ft above sea level,this unique fort is built on a triangular prism of rock.
A small temple and a cave with water, situated on the top, are worth visiting.
Thrilling spot : Rock cut steps at an angle of almost 80 degrees vertical.
While climbing the fort, we come across a rock-sheet, which has got steps carved in it. Also many grooves have been carved here for additional support. After climbing these steps, we get upto the entrance door.
The itinerary for the event will be as follows:
Day 0:
Leave on Friday night by last kasara local.
Catch local transport from kasara to nirgudpada.
Reach Harihar fort base village by 6am.
Breakfast at base village.
Day1:
Start trek by 7am.
Reach top by 10am.
Explore the fort
Lunch at top.
Start descend by 1pm.
Reach base village by 3pm.
Move toward Tryambakeshwar.
Reach tryambakeshwar by 5 pm.
Temple Visit.
Start ascending Bramhagiri (1 hour trek on Steps)
Reach brahmagiri by 7 pm.
Dinner
Stay on top of bramhagiri ( Open Stay)
Day 2:
Wake up by 6am.
Breakfast.
Start trek for Durg Bhandar.
Reach durg bhandar by 9am.
Explore the fort.
Back to brahmagiri.
Start descend.
Reach Tryambakeshwar by 2pm.
Lunch
Start our return journey by local transport.
Reach kasara by 5pm.
Catch train for Mumbai.
Back to mumbai around 8 pm.
The cost for the event will be Rs 1500/- per head
Inclusions:
Traveling from Kasara to Kasara.
Sat breakfast, dinner, Sunday breakfast and lunch.
