Trek to Lohagad
About the Fort:
Lohagad is amongst the easiest trek that one can undertake from Mumbai. Lohagad is one of the few forts ideal for trekking. Lohagadwadi is the village from where the step up the Lohagad fort starts. Lohagad is 2000 years old fort, proved by the existence of Bhaje and Karla caves in its vicinity and was one of the most important forts of Satwaahan Period. The prime purpose of building this strategic fort was to have a watch-tower because of its strategic location. It is also believed that Lohagad was used to preserve the stolen booty looted from Surat since it was well-protected from all sides. The Fort still has solid fortification and stands 3,400 feet high above sea level offering amazing view of Pawna Dam, and other forts namely Tunga and Tikona.

Meeting Point 6.00 am sharp near Ramdev Hotel opp. Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali (east)
Departure: 6.30 am sharp
9.30 am approx. Small briefing session and trek starts
1.00 pm Lunch, 4.00 pm Descend down and departure for Mumbai.
Amount: Rs.1950/- per person which includes travel, breakfast, lunch, evening snacks
Booking amount: Rs.500/- nonrefundable;
Last date for registration: 13th November, 2014.
Things to carry Comfortable sports shoes, A sack which would fit in all your accessories and camera, Personal Medical kit, Do not carry any valuables or jewelry, Towel/ napkins and Torch
