A town steeped in history, myth and culture. A town that promises to be not just a destination but an experience. A town that features on the global travellers’ map and recognised as a world heritage site by the UNESCO. A town that introduces us to the glorious past of our country. A town where sloth bears amble about and birds fly uninhibited. A town that allows you to be yourself. And this October, we invite you to backpack with us to Hampi.
Our journey begins on the evening of Wednesday, 22nd Oct on a bus headed to Hospet. Beginning next morning until Sunday evening, we spend our time soaking in the sights, sounds, smells and the adventure of this town of the ruins. On foot, on cycle, in autorickshaws. Go swimming in a reservoir close by, try our hands at Bouldering on the rocks nearby.
Climb to the highest hills, sit on the rocks, meditate, contemplate and wander about in search of nothing in particular. At nights, look up and gaze at the milky way watching shooting stars fly across. Photograph the temples, the queen’s bath, elephant stables and the erstwhile market areas where horses and weapons were sold.
Watch the stories from the Ramayana come alive as we amble about sites, the names of which are etched in our memories – thanks to Uncle Pai and Ramanand Sagar. Wait for the sloth bears come out and play about in the sanctuary nearby. But moreover spend time getting to know yourself, better. So if you are the type that likes to experience a place, not just see it, then we invite you to come along on this trip.
