Prabalgad :
Prabalgad Fort, also known as Kalavantin Durg (Kalavantin’s Fort), is located between Matheran and Panvel in the Indian State of Maharashtra, at an elevation of 2,300 feet in the Western Ghats. It was built at the pinnacle of the rocky plateau very close to Matheran. Previously, the fort was known as Muranajan until it was taken over and renamed by the Maratha forces under Shivaji’s rule.
This fort can be approached via chilling steep climb. The steps leading up to the fort were cut into the rocks of the hill. There are no safety rails on the edge and no ropes on the wall to grab on to. The hardest part is the descent, especially if you have vertigo.
Irshaalgad :- Irshaalgad is not exactly the fort its pinnacle thats why there is no specific history to this fort but this fort comes under the Maratha empire .

Outing Schedule:
Day 1- 18th Oct
The journey starts with the Panvel local according to given train times below. People should meet at Kurla station by 5.45 AM. People coming from western Central line will meet at Panvel station. Proceed to the base village of Kalavantin (Thakurwadi) by auto/ Bus. Post breakfast have introduction round and start trekking by 09:00 am. Till the noon, we shall reach by the top of the Prabalgad . Start descending by 02:00 pm have lunch at Prabalmachi . Rest. Overnight at Prabalmachi.
Day 2 – 19th Oct
Early morning breakfast and start trek towards Irshalgad. It is an approximate 3 and half hour trek. We will reach at top of Irshaalgad. Explore and Enjoy the fort view. enjoy the snacks and start descending to “chook” .Have Lunch and the trek ends with sweet memories.
