After the three successful batches at Velas last year and watching more than 100 baby turtles…Mumbai Travellers’ is all set for the Turtle Festival at Velas 2013!!
2013 Batch 1 had 27 Travellers
2013 Batch 2 has 75 Travellers
And for this Batch 3 : Registrations are open………
Velas is a small village in Ratnagiri district which is famous for the Olive ridley turtle population that visits the Velas beach every year and lays their eggs.At Velas, turtle conservation movement is undertaken by the villagers. An NGO named Nisargmitra has taken the initiative to conserve olive ridley turtles by providing protection to their eggs.
Witnessing a baby turtle coming out of the egg and then finding its way to the sea by those baby steps is an unforgettable moment.
Outing Duration: 2 Night / 2 Days

Outing Schedule:
Day 1: 15th March,2013
Late night (11 pm ) departure from Mumbai towards Velas.
Date 2: 16th March, 2013
Early morning arrival at Velas.
Morning session: visit to Velas beach for turtle sighting
Afternoon session : sightseeing (Bankot fort)
Evening session: Observe the turtle nests and explore the Velas beach. Overnight at Velas.

After breakfast proceed towards Harihareshwar temple/beach.Post lunch proceed back to Mumbai.

Enrollment Fees: Rs. 1900/- per person
Registered Members Cost: Rs.1800/- per person
