Posted: 25 Aug 2014 02:14 PM PDT Dear Trekkers , Nature Lovers , Photographers and Adventure freaks, We at B365 has arranged a Trek to Ratangad – Sonavali Flowers Special on 20th and 21st September 2014. Brief Info about the Trek:- Height: – 1297 mtrs-4255 feet Base Village: – Ratanwadi Grade: – Medium Endurance Level: – Medium Duration of the Event: – 2 Days Distance from Mumbai: – 250 Kms Distance from Pune: – 215 Kms District :- Igatpuri – Nashik Who can join for the Event :- 10 years and above. Attractions of the Event: – Jungle Trail , Water Streams, Stay in the Caves , Rains , Sonavali Flowers all around the Way , Natural Hole (Nedhe) in the Mountain all in one adventure package. Ratangad fort has a cave on the top which is enuff to accommodate about a 30-40 people at a time. There are small caves and a Temple too, Very few forts has a geological feature called as "Nedha" or "needle hole" which means a natural hole in the mountain where you can actually sit in and enjoy the natural and scenic beauty of the peripheral areas , Amruteshwar temple which is located at the base of Ratangad fort in the Ratanwadi is one of the old "hemadpanthi" temples with fascinating stone carvings, The Temple is carved in single rock. Itinerary and schedule for the Event :- 12:30 PM Meeting Point at Sharda Cinema – Dadar (E) on 20th September 2014 Moving by bus towards Shendi Pick up on the way via Sion, Thane Reaching at Shendi After reaching at Ratanwadi freshen up and visit to Amruteshwar Temple. Dinner and Start Trek (Time will be according to the Weather) Reach Atop and settle in the caves, Rest Wake up call will be before sunrise to freshen up and other mandatory things. Coffee and Breakfast. Moving towards Nedhe and Descend via Kalyan Darwaja Base Village (Ratanwadi) After reaching Ratanwadi will move towards Mumbai / Pune. Information about the Tour Every year, during the months of August-October, Kaas pathar in the state of Maharashtra comes alive with numerous and variety of colors. Kaas Plateau is rich in its Bio-diversity. Many species are observed on plateau which are new to the Botanical Science. Many of the endemic, endangered plants are found on Plateau. More than 850 species of flowering plants are reported on the plateau. 624 species have entered in the Red Data Book. Out of these 624 species, 39 are found only in Kaas Region. Flowers of KAAS Plateau - Kaas has more to offer if you are willing to walk more than a little. A couple of miles farther down on the same walkway lies a pond. You might wonder: what's so special about a Pond ! Well, a couple of things: the stark similarity of this piece of land with a desert-scape: cactus's all around; so much that it's more like an oasis than a pond. Thoseghar waterfalls is a scenic spot located near the small village of Thoseghar, 20 km from Satara city, at the edge of the Konkan region, in Western Indiayou can view it from view point but cannot go near to it or have shower below it. Sajjangad fort is located on the way to the Thosheghar waterfalls and chalkewadi windmills we need to ascend the stairs starting at around 9:30-10:00 AM in the morning for the prasad, which is served there everyday. Which is a whole and complete meal … a sumptuous meal will fill in the different energy … and the surrounding is just awesome … we can view the nature from the backyard of the fort What can you see on the Fort:- 1.
