Courtesy: Trekshitiz.com Fort Peb is situated on northeast side of Panvel, on Mumbai-Pune road, at a distance of 3-4 km on west side of Neral. To avoid crowd at hill stations like Matheran, nature lovers must visit the nearby fort Peb. This is the most beautiful one-day trek. One would find Peb similar to Gorakhgad in terms of the time required to climb the fort, ways towards the fort, the cave and the surrounding nature. But there is a dense forest on the way to the fort Peb. Nowadays deforestation has reduced it a lot. We at " WILD TREK ADVENTURE CLUB ,PUNE " are glad to invite you all for" FAMOUS kas pathar-sajjangad fort -Massive Thoseghar Waterfall Event--" 31st AUG 2014 EVENT INFO: Kas Plateau (World heritage site) The Kaas Plateau also known as the "Kaas Pathar" which is situated in the Western Ghat Sahyadri range, 22 kilometers from Satara city in Maharashtra state of India. The name Kaas originates from Kaasa tree (Elaeocarpus glandulosus). Leaves of this tree turn green to red as they mature. It gets white flowers only for 15 days in the month of March. The area of plateau is approximately 1,000 hectar.The plateau is full of wild flowers during the months of August and September. These flowers bloom on their own and stay for about 2–3 weeks (depending on the monsoon and other weather factors). Recently it has been declared as Biodiversity World heritage site by The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco).[1][2] It has an small lake nearby, as you are driving down the curves climbing down from Kaas Plateau you see a sign on left saying - Kaas Talav. It is a natural tranquil Kaas lake surrounded by dense forests. To the left of the lake lies Sajjangad fort and Kanher Dam is to the right. It an famous picnic spot with the locals. The place has more than 850 different species of flowers and other plants including Orchids, Karvy and carnivorous plants such as Drosera Indica. This falls under the Sahyadri Sub Cluster of Western Ghats which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If any one want to visit Kas palteau, have to register through website www.kas.ind.in Thoseghar waterfalls :is a scenic spot located near the small village of Thoseghar, 20 km from Satara city, at the edge of the Konkan region, in Western India. Lord Hanuman was son of Maharaj 'Keshari' and 'Anjanimata' also known the son of 'Pavan Dev' (the wind), and hence the fort is called as 'Anjaneri'. Anjaneri is one of the important forts in the ranges of Trimbyakeshwar near Nashik.Anjaneri village is at a walking distance of 10 to 15 minutes from Anjaneri Phata.
