Little info About Place
Lohgad is part of the Western Ghats. It is located to the southwest of the larger Visapur fort. The range divides the basins of the Indrayani and Pavana rivers. Lohgad overlooks the Pavana reservoir, located to the south of the mountain. The hill extends to the northwest to a fortified spur, called Vinchukata (Scorpion's tail) because of its resembling shape. The four large gates of Lohgad are still in good condition and reasonably intact.

During the monsoon, the top of the fort is covered with mist and clouds and becomes particularly wet with growing moss. The roads and trails leading to the hill are quite slippery at this time of the year and precautions are necessary to be taken while venturing the routes.

From Mumbai:
Start the journey with Indrayani express.
Train Timings :- Indrayani Express
CST – 5:40 am
Dadar – 5.51 am
Thane – 6.14 am
Kalyan – 6.35 am
Lonavla – 8.00 am
(Please make sure you reach 45 mins early to your respected boarding station, as there might be long queues for the tickets).
Move forward to Malavali by local train (8 :15am at Lonavala station platform no 3).
From Pune:
Board Pune Lonavala Local Train
Timings are as below
Pune Station: 06:27 Hrs
Shivaji Nagar : 06:33 Hrs
Malavali Station: 07:40 Hrs
08:30: Have breakfast
09:00: Move towards Bhaje caves
09:45: Move towards Lohgad
12:00: Reach at the Top of Lohgad, Explorer the fort
13:30: Start the descend
14:00: Reach Lohgadwadi & have lunch
15:00: After Lunch Move towards Malavali Station
17:00: Reach Malavali Station
For Pune: Take Local for Pune
For Mumbai: Reach Lonavala, Take train to Mumbai.
Things to be carried:
• A Water Bottle (~2 Ltrs)
• Torch With Extra Battery
• Camera, Cell Phone, Mug (Optional)
• Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments
• Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.
• Medicine those if you require usually (Optional)
• Extra Pair of clothes, Good trekking shoes,
• A haversack to put all these things
