Karnala fort is situated in Raigad district near Panvel. Height of this fort is 2500 ft above sea level.
History: In 1656 Shivaji Maharaj conquered this fort and took it under Maratha kingdom. Later in the Purandar treaty this fort was handed over to Mughals. Again in 1670 Shivaji Maharaj has conquered this fort along with all Kalyan regions.
What to see on Karnala …..
Temple of Lord Shiva and Goddess Bhavani.
Bastions of the fort well in condition.
Water Cisterns and Grain storage.
Remains of old structure
From the fort top we can have glimpse of Prabalgad, Irshalgad, Sankshi, Dhaak and Rajmachi Fort.
Karnala is famous for its Bird sanctuary. Many bird species are found in this area.
Trek Schedule:
First pickup 6.00 am Borivali - East Station near 700 A/c bus Stop on Sunday 20th July 2014.
Second Pickup 7.00 am Nahur Railway Station on Sunday 20th July 2014.
We will reach at the base of Karnala Fort at 9.00 am & after breakfast will start our trek.
We will reach on the top, spend time to watch the fort and surrounding area and will come down at 12.30 pm.
After Lunch we will start our return journey and will reach Mumbai at around 6.00 pm on Sunday 20th July 2014.
Contribution per person is Rs. 700/-
(This includes tea, breakfast, lunch, snacks and private transport from Borivali to Borivali).

All our treks are eco-friendly treks, kindly take care of nature around us
