- The initial part of the hike passes through shrubs & bushes & is a well marked trail. The trail becomes confusing after crossing the plateau with Kalavantin to the left & Prabhalgad to the right. All guests are advised to stick together till they reach the Col between the 2 forts.
- The steep & thrilling section of steps starts after reaching the Col. The final ascend to the fort requires scaling a small & easy rock patch.
- Kalavantin is buffeted generally by strong winds during the monsoon season; It is strongly advised to stay away from Ledges & Edges for safety.
- Full Clothes (Track Pants & Full Sleeve T-Shirts) are advised to prevent cuts/bruises during the hike & also protects the skin from insects.
- Shoes are advised as it is better to have completely covered feet. Extra Floaters or Chappals would be a good idea as sports shoes tend to give away (Open up) during monsoon treks.
- Caps/Hats advised to factor for sunny weather.
- All belongings should be carried in a Rucksack & should be packed in Polythene to prevent it from getting wet in the rain.
