Short info :
The Fan-throated lizard (Sitana ponticeriana) is a species of agamid lizard found in Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, and parts of Pakistan. The species is found mostly on the ground in open ground patches in thin forest, and when disturbed this species may run on two legs. They are known as fan throated lizards as they have an expandable flap of skin under their throat, known as a dewlap or a gular fan. This species expands the dewlap in order to scare enemies, as a part of courtship or as communication to other individuals.This phenomena of male FTLs displaying their flamboyant fans is observed only for about a month at some selected locations. At Mumbai Travellers outing, we will explore the table land near Satara and photograph this amazing creature at its best !!

Tour Schedule :
Saturday night at 11 pm start our journey towards Satara in private vehicle.
Day-1 : Reach Satara early morning, freshen up and start our journey towards the table land. Reach on site and have breakfast.
Post breakfast, a short introduction session about Fan throated lizard and how to go about its photography keeping all the ethics intact. Post session, exploring the site by experts to locate the FTL specimens and start with the photography under instructions.
Leave from the photography site around 1 pm. Have packed lunch and start our journey towards Mumbai with memories of FTL in your mind and some awesome snaps in your camera.
Reach Mumbai by 10 pm. Tour concludes.
Note: Registration on first come first served basis. Minimum 6 entries required for this outing.
