Yatri Sahyadri has organized a trek at Chandragad to Arthur Seaton March 01-02, 2014. Some basic
information about the trek is as follows:
Fort: Chandragad/Arthur Seat
Height: 3500/4396 fts resp.
Range: Sahyadri
District: Satara
Level: Medium
Chandragad: The fort was constructed by Chandrarao More of Javli and it was named after him as 'Chandragad'. It was taken over by ShivajiMaharaj in the 17th century. The fort was used mainly to keep close watch on the 'Dhawalya Ghat' route.7-8 kms from Dhawale village is Umarathwhich is birth place of ShriTanajiMalusare also known as Simha ("lion"), a great worrier in the army of ShivajiMaharaj.
Authur’s Seat is 4396 fts high. The queen of all points, Arthur’s point got its name after Arthur Mallet as he was the first man to come here and build a house. Arthur seat is also known as “Suicide Point @ Mahabaleshwar”.

08.00pm (Saturday night):Journey starts from Magathane Depo, Borivali East.
9:30 pm: Will reach Vashi
March 02, 2014
3:00 am: Will reach Poladpur & Proceed to base village: Dhawale
4:00 am: Will reach Dhawale & rest after a long journey
5:00 am: Start getting ready& take morning breakfast & packed lunch
6:00 am: start trekking towards Chandragad
10:00 am: Reach Top of the Chandragad& Tour to the Chandragad Fort
11:00 am: Processed towards Arthur Seat
3:00 pm: Will reach our final destination. We will have refreshments & site seeing being one of the tourist attraction in mahabaleshwar (if we have enough time)
5:00 pm: Will reach Mahabaleshwar & processed to Mumbai.
Charges: Rs. 2000/- per person
Includes :
Mumbai to Dhawale, Sunday: breakfast/refreshments/lunch & return journey to Mumbai.
Here is a list of all the things that we need to carry for the trek:
1. Torch, Good quality haversack to put in all the things to be carried. So that one has hands free while trekking.
2. A bottle of water (minimum 3 Ltrs).
3. Camera (Optional), Avoid wearing Gold and other jewelry (at own risk)
4. Electoral / Enerzyl powder, 2 Lemon, some snacks & biscuits (as per your requirements), spoon, glass tiffin (compulsory as we have to carry packed lunch).
5. Personal medicines & 2 plastic bags for weight distribution, insect repellant cream (Odomos or similar brand).
6. A good trekking shoes and extra clothes (compulsory).
