RAIRESHWAR To NAKHIND EXPEDITION
Short Info:
Raireshwar is a 13 kilometer long plateau. Maximum height of this plateau is 1400 meters. It is mainly famous for its Shiva Temple where Shivaji is said to have taken oath to form Swarajya and he did it. The weather here is pleasant cool throughout the year. During winter temperature drops to 11 degree Celsius. It has smaller hills within and thick vegetation of neche (नेचे). Trek from Raireshwar Temple to the west most point of Raireshwar i.e. Nakhind is full of majestic spellbound views of valleys and mountains. Nakhind is a needle hole formed in the rock on the western tip of Raireshwar. On the trail one side we see the Nira Deodhar dam, its reservoir and winding road towards Varandha Ghat. On the other side we have Plateau of Koleshwar and Raireshwar. When we reach at Nakhind after trek of 4 hrs we remain spellbound by the majestic beauty of nature there. We see village of Kamathe, Kudali and Dhavale in the valley from Nakhind point. Jaunting Aurthers Seat, Chandragad, Mangalgad, Mahadev Murha, Mohan gad and other mountains are seen from here. The experience is like when someone first time sees kokankada of Harischandragad. It is very satisfying and the pains of coming here of a long walk is forgotten. We are sure you want to be part of this experience.

Day-0 : Overnight journey from Mumbai to Raireshwar base (7 hrs)
Day-1: Ascend of 30 minutes to Raireshwar Temple, 200 meters. Breakfast, Trek to Nakhind and return, Lunch on the way back, Return to Raireshwar Temple, Dinner and Camp fire. Overnight in Dharmashala near Temple.
Day-2: Wake up, Breakfast and Descend Raireshwar. Visit Menawali village known for its Krishna Ghaat and Fadanvis Wada, Post lunch start return journey towards Mumbai (7 hrs), En route lunch. Late evening arrival at Mumbai.
